Miele dishwasher F70 fault 5 min TEMPORARY fix

How to clear the f70 fault which leaves the drain pump running constantly.
Shut off breaker. Remove kick panel cover. Remove 2 t20 screws. Use syringe or rags to remove water from drain pan.
EDIT: 3 weeks later... This fix ended up being good to keep the dishwasher going but we ended up replacing it last week...
Ours was 12 years old. I took the dishwasher apart and identified the problem as a leaking and dry-rotted hose.
I patched it with some vinyl tubing and pipe clamps but after a while, that leaked too.
There are other parts in this dishwasher that use the same dry rotted crumbly hose material.

I have a Miele Model G 4228SCU, and same plastic cover as mentioned by William Lutz below. Push in 2 tabs of the cover to remove. I really appreciate Ian Hart's efforts creating this video. It probably saved me a $150 bill to pay a service repair technician. Thank you VERY MUCH !!!! Cheers !

Thanks, feel lucky to have found your video. My Miele froze last night, with Error F 70. Followed you instructions this AM, had it fixed and running again in 30 minutes. One point that was slightly different on my unit is that once I removed the plate, there was one additional plastic cover in front of the float and water basin, but it came out pretty easily (no screws), and voila, there was the float and the basin, and I used a syringe like you to get the water out. As always, good idea to unplug the dishwasher before diving in to this repair. Thanks again!

Thx for simple fix. I didn’t even know what a torque screw was, but found the right tool in my tool box and had the fix in about 10 minutes. Couldn’t get a service tech for 4 weeks so very grateful.

This worked brilliantly! Great video, straight to the point, no messing around with the whole " Like and Share" nonsense that youtube is normally full of! Turns out that bits of glass and a dirty filter was causing the leak - the dishwasher was part of the kitchen in a house we bought, looks like the previous tenants had it all clogged up.

Thank you for this!! We have a 2013 Futura Dimension. Being run every other day due to the quarantine. No cycle was run today but suddenly pump running nonstop and Waterproof/Close Door message. Saw this website as well as a youtube video. Turned circuit breaker off. Torx-d off the kick plate, center panel, and had to use flathead to gently work the plastic cover off the wiring. This is one more step than is in the video - our model had a plastic coverplate over the middle part that I just pried off. I saw the float, and used a 10 cc syringe with plastic catheter tip to remove about 3 cups of water (could have used serial towels also). Turned circuit back on, no more error messages. Cleaned filters and now running a rinse cycle, fingers crossed.

Fixed my F70 problem. After cleaning the strainer and ball valve which usually resolves the error code, but this time the pump just kept running unless the machine was turned off at the mains. Machine doesn't seem to like popcorn seeds in the ball valve, which had caused the overflow. Saved an expensive service call. Thanks also.

Many thanks from Italy! My husband had mistakenly put "sodium percarbonate" in the dishwasher instead of detergent. The little foam that developed was enough to clog the filter and the error F70 was triggered. The simple procedure you explained seems to have definitely solved our problem.

Bingo. I had run a cycle on a large item without the glass rack and it must not like that enough to have flooded the pan below. Great tip and technique. I used a 20ml syringe from the shop to pull out about two cups of soapy water. No turkey grease. Hopefully it is happy with the rack now back in place. Bravo!

Thank you. An even quicker fix: No disassembly needed, tilt dishwasher forward and any liquid in that area will leak out, and then it worked. My leak was caused by the top sprayer becoming dislodged and presumably flooding into that lower section, I clipped the arm back in, still F70, but tilting forward fixed the problem.

Thank you...!!! So much easier than taking the whole cover off. In our case the water had leaked from the countertop, so there was no internal leak... we simply needed to remove the water. We used a microabsorbant rag (Amazon - Shamwow)... worked like a charm. Please just be careful not to damage the sensor while you are in there!

I am testing now with the cover open and observing each cycle. It had quite clean water in there and no apparent root cause so I don’t know if it will return. For now it seems to work. Thank you for sharing this years ago!

Normally it shouldn't leak even if the filter is clogged. However I can recommend your method to dry the leaked water to avoid mess when a repair required putting the machine on its side.
