I remember my friend bought a small Hobart that size for welding automotive panels. It has the gas conversion, but he complained for months that it wasn't welding right... Until a mutual friend asked "did you check the polarity?" The Hobart welded great from that point on. 💪

This was basically me working on the floor while learning to weld. I have to say, it was actually pretty good experience, because once I got a table (albeit a cheap one), I was pretty darn steady being able to prop!

It's somewhat comforting to know someone as good as this guy can still miss things like polarity. Last week I was fighting my TIG machine like mad for an hour, burning up tungsten immediately. I finally noticed my ground and torch leads were swapped at the machine. Pretty sure my neighbours heard me groaning.

Those little 230v Lincolns(not the 120v version) are really good, under appreciated machines. Once you get the settings dialed in, they perform very well on mig. Same goes for flux, they can really lay down the heat. I know I ran my old one past the duty cycle more than a couple times but it was a timex in that regard, miles and miles of wire through it and it never stopped. They just need a longer whip as standard, you can order longer ones from HTP iirc.

Cam you recommend a decent starter welder that is 120 volt?
@scotttipps81552 жыл бұрын
Honestly, most of the 130 volt welders are junk. Gutless and have absolutely no power at all. Save your money, get a 240 volt machine and okay an electrician to wire you a 240 volt plug. Seriosusly

I think the bottom piece should have 3 holes on each piece, I see it has little feet to let the air under it but if you put that in the grass or on dirt then those little feet will just go into the dirt and then you no longer have airflow. The holes eliminate that. Just my thoughts 💭

@gbughy3 жыл бұрын
Why MAG and not MIG? Do you know the GAS or are you able to tell from the video?
@africaland5063 жыл бұрын
@chucknorris29523 жыл бұрын
Isnt this stainless? Its common to use 99% argon on that (which is an inert gas.)
