there's money to be made out there doing repairs like this! I do a fair amount on my nights and weekends for the local Massey dealer-it's amazing how much comes out of the factory either totally wrong or breaks too fast. We had a bunch of loader frames earlier this year with bushings just off enough to not work. Going to weld up a hay baler in the morning-I don't have a spare minute. Great job knocking this one out and doing it right!

I divide my shop 'rags' between two metal 'fire-safe' bins. One bin if for washable shop rags and the other bin is for disposable shop towels. I make it a practice to never toss a wet rag into those bins if I can avoid it - I will just toss them onto the floor to air out a while and pick them up later when I am cleaning up after the project. This allows plenty of time for the more volatile chemicals to evaporate before going into the bin. BTW - the used shop towels make an excellent fire starter for the stove! To expand on this practice, I also use multiple trash cans in the workshop to divide up the items - not really recycling but more like weight management. I use a 5 gallon bucket for metal trash and this keeps the weight down. And I use a chest-high wheeled trash can for plastic jugs, styrofoam, etc. which will never get heavy with those items.

Another awesome repair video love seeing them. Pls keep them coming!! I see you’re using Milwaukee tools? What do you think of them? Been using them for like 4-5 years and love them. Have a great day thanks again god bless!!

This just started because i just bought a Milwaukee weed wacker and blower, so ive been building up that M18 platform. I've always been a huge fan of Milwaukee. Back when the Dewalt 12 volt came out, I bought a kit. Paid close to $500, that was 20 years ago. The kit was toast in 2 years. I've owned a bunch of Milwaikee over the years and never had even one problem.

Try Dawn to clean up instead of acetone. Safer for skin and lungs, no disposal worries, waaay cheaper.

What about all that welding heat on the bearings and inside the bearing shaft
@daniele32754 ай бұрын
@@gordonabrahamson5907 the bearings are probably still fine . The housing itself can have got deformed cause of the welding shrinking
@BrandonLund4 ай бұрын
It's filled with grease. The bearings are out far enough to not be affected.
@daniele32754 ай бұрын
Hi Brandon It would have been better to put a machined pin threaded inside the bearing housing. Because I think the weld you added on would avoid the other part to slide all the way through and come to a stop at the roll pin. Which is more likely a locating pin for alignment and the then you put the bolt for securing it in place. I've reverse engineered the part while watching the video cause I was thinking a way to reinforce the thing. As it's an engineer fault.
@shootgp4 ай бұрын
You engineers think too highly of yourselves. It was an engineer that designed a part that couldn't be welded on the bottom side to begin with....
@daniele32754 ай бұрын
@@shootgp I'm not an engineer I'm a machinist
@BrandonLund4 ай бұрын
That roll pin and bolt do nothing according to the owner. Nothing slides up to it. I thought the same thing too until i checked with him. Maybe it's a universal part or something.

The degreaser can be deadly when welding be careful
@daniele32754 ай бұрын
@@michaelc9507 I wasn't aware till yesterday when I've discovered that residues can contain a substance that when reaches a certain temperature start a chemical reaction developing phosphagen gas or something like that. It's really chlorinated products that are the issue because it creates phosgene gas when heated. Acetone is a common cleaner for welding. The degreaser is a flammable solvent. All of them are carcinogens if heated and inhaled.
@senosroweretaked92214 ай бұрын
is it true that mig stands for anyone can weld?
@BrandonLund4 ай бұрын
I've never heard that, but judging from some of the exhaust system repairs I've seen over the years, it's highly doubtful.
@jasnapon4 ай бұрын
Why non chrounated
@BrandonLund4 ай бұрын
When heated, it turns to phosgene gas (mustard gas) and is deadly. The red can of brake clean is chlorinated. You want the green can which is non chlorinated.
