In the Mega-Dragonzord combination mode, Dragonzord's feet actually do have a locking point. You just need to push it in a bit harder and you will hear a click. That's the locking point and its very tight. Mine copy of Dragonzord does have its feet stay in very securely and do not drop off easily.

+Rain Chang (RainieBabe) that "click" you're hearing is most likely the thigh flaps' inner tab catching on the dragon's knees. I've seen multiple people try to prove this is a clicking point and usually it's just joint tolerances. Only other way to keep it up is to angle the entire hip joints forward so the combination doesn't flop downwards.

I i didn't even know the MegaZord and DragonZord had been redesigned. I bought the MegaZord, DragonZord and Titanus when they originally came out in '93/'94 and still have them on my shelf. I like the new ability to change the hands and the change to the tail to make it more like the show on the DragonZord, but think it's weird they would remold the joints for the legs from the round style to the pin style, when the show clearly showed the round style connection. I see they completely redesigned the DragonZord's chest piece and stand as well. The one I have lights up and beeps, and can stand on it's own (but no handle for the Zord to hold)

Hi emgo, 2 questions: 1- Can the black flaps in the dragonzord's tights lock to hold the leg in combination modes? 2- What are your thoughts on the zords builder ports system?

I just got mine and it came with a warped fin on the head. It's an easy fix though using boiling water to straighten it. It's now on display in Dragonzord battlemode because I think that mode looks the best!

there is a lock for the feet, when you push them in if you close the black panel (the second panel you where talking about) there's a lip that goes under the knee cap. With the panel flopping around like you had it there is no clip. I didn't even notice it until I saw you pull the panel all the way up and then I checked mine and it's the same way, now that I make sure that black panel is fully closed the feet don't flop around at all.

Hey Emgo, I'm sure someone has already pointed this out but I can't see it in the comments. The reason for the shorter points on the staff thing is so when it is being held at a slight angle it will still be stable I believe.

Where articulation is concerned, I am somewhat convinced that the given rotational joints behind the golden arm-plates qualify as arm-articulation of some sort. I mean it's a rotation that serves no other purpose than to help the arms move.

I'll say this, for what it's worth, in the standard Dragonzord form, this guy is perfect. He's articulate where he needs to be. His tail is awesome (and show-accurate). He's just flawless in that form. He does come up short in the combination department, though. Not having anything in the knees to secure them for Battle Mode and him being so disproportionately off in the same mode really hurt this guy in my eyes. It sucks, too, because DiBM was always my favorite Zord combination in the franchise. The problem stems from the 2010/Legacy Megazord itself. It's simple: that Megazord was never meant to combine with anything. At the time of the 2010's release, Bandai had intended it as a one-off, and it was built that way. There were no details in the sculpt or around the combination points that indicated it would combine with anything else. So when fan demand had reached a point that a Dragonzord had to be made, they essentially had to build it around the Megazord. That's one reason why the DiBM is all fugly. With the original Zords, everything was proportionate, everything was flush and fluid. It all fit together. With this Legacy DiBM, you have a Dragonzord combining with something that was never meant to combine with it in turn.

True, Power Rangers Megazord toys are very... basic, kinda chunky and lacking in articulation, but those attributes are also what makes them more or less idiot-proof. Many Transformers toys are quite complicated, which is kinda cool for things like movie accuracy (or hiding robot or alt-mode parts) but they are also less stable and simple. Their joints and pegs and tabs are prone to stress marks, they have complicated and delicate joints, the instructions are more simple than the toy so aren't much help... the list goes on. I see the appeal of these over Transformers that they actually have for some people.
