If MN9 was just a run of the mill indie title coming from out of nowhere from some nobody developer, I think people would've been fine with it just being an average game, in fact it may have even been a sleeper hit. But it was massively supported, massively funded and hyped. Expectations were very high for this game, and they were not reached. Alas, it will go down in history as just a disappointment.

I have to agree somewhat. The company, especially Inafune wouldn't be getting this much flak had they made the game with their own money. At least even with some criticism, they wouldn't be much people shouting "Con Man" every 5 seconds when Inafune's name is brought up. He and his team took a risk and failed to make the game take off as a success.
