Let me add more thanks from the states. I really enjoy your enthusiasm and humor. It would be fantastic to see you take on a classic American car built the way we would do it. Maybe a 64 and a half mustang, a 79 f150 ranger, or a c2 corvette.
@Hoggdoc19466 жыл бұрын
Michael Hartleroad - Please this thing with over 400 HP at the wheels and weighing in at 2400 lbs would annihilate the cars you mentioned. That's not to mention it's track abilities with all the new suspension work too. It will be truly interesting to see how it is able to put all that power down to the road...

+Revo900 While it saddens me to hear that, I'm not at all surprised. KZbin has become an incredibly unfriendly platform to content creators, catering to advertisements and revenue rather than the people who made youtube what it is. If MCM decides to change platforms I will definitely follow them to wherever they choose to go. I think a lot of content creators are trying to tough it out, but the fact that KZbin wants to make it so THEY control what you see on your landing page rather than what YOU want to see, ie, KZbin recommended versus your sub feed, is simply reprehensible and a total shift from what KZbin is all about. They're becoming another Facebook, and it's sad to see it happen.

It's more like 380 bhp/ton actually. If the car weighs 1100 kg and a ton is 1000 kg, then 417 bhp is 379,09 bhp/ton. Here's a list of cars that make around 380 bhp/ton : TVR Cerbera 4.5 (1997) - 381.8 bhp/ton Mercedes McLaren SLR (2003) - 381.3 bhp/ton Lexus LFA Nurburgring (2011) - 380.4 bhp/ton Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 (2012) - 378.9 bhp/ton Ferrari 458 (2009) - 378.4 bhp/ton Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Spyder Performante Edizione (2013) 378.4 bhp/ton Aston Martin Vantage GT3 (2015) - 377.6 bhp/ton Still a pretty impressive list though
@biggyshaf6 жыл бұрын
ou are using power measured at the wheels not at the crank, assuming normal drivetrain losses this makes 485 bhp at the crank so 440bhp per ton is pretty accurate

Nice to see this 'finished'! I hope the registration process doesn't mess anything around too much. I know they don't like fender mirrors, would be a shame to have to rip those off. And the offset of the rims is probably too low and widens the track too much, so it'd be a damn shame to see the Watanabes go :( Of course they can bolt things back on after getting it registered, but then they just have to hope the police don't pick on it.

400hp in a car that light would be massive!
@NeXMaX6 жыл бұрын
It's probably more than 400hp at the crank since that's driveline power
@Cadecoops6 жыл бұрын
D13H4RD2L1V3 negative you lose power through the drive train, may be a slight difference at the wheels but would be minimal
@NeXMaX6 жыл бұрын
That's what I meant. The power at the crank is likely more then 400hp since the dyno is measuring power as it goes through the transmission, driveshaft and final-drive/differential, and some power will be lost along the way
@alexmartin95506 жыл бұрын
I believe the general rule is 15% power loss from the crank to the wheels. After some math, it's probably doing around 475-490 at the crank.

Does it have anything to do with the book Marty was reading at the start of episode 4 ?

too right. IIRC M&M are both 6 footers. Scottys got to be 7 or within a gnat's eyelash of it.

The emotion with this build is real! Congratulations! Thanks for sharing this epic build. Hard work and many years went into this. Reaching this moment in a car guys world is what dreams are made of. Seeing Moog overwhelming happy is a great thing. I hope you enjoy it for years to come and hand it down to your children. Thanks again for all that yall do.

Just finished watching this entire build. Gotta say WOW!!, have enjoyed every single second. You chaps really know what you’re doing. Have learnt a lot, such an awesome awesome build. Just watching your feature films in Japan atm, terrific viewing. Keep looking out for new stuff from you. Btw, this is my first ever comment I think on KZbin!, captivating. Not well at the moment, making my days go along nicely watching you chaps!, all the best from Essex👍.

Shame on that air filter brand.

Wade shame on all mesh filters... paper is always better. If you want a cone filter but not upper cylinder wear, try the Motorcraft GT350 filter. Made by Purolator, top notch, wont let dirt in, enough flow for 600+hp.

data/proof to back up that claim?
@eclipsegst94196 жыл бұрын
supernice_auto yep. Plenty of video evidence here on youtube. Test was done. A paper air filter was installed midstream, and then various filters, foam, fleece (k/n, airraid etc), and paper, were installed in front of it. So if anything made it thru the first filter, it would be seen on the second. The fleece filters were by far the worst at filtration. The foam let some oil thru. If anything was truly better than paper, manufaturers would use it, and just charge for the cleaning. As a technician i have seen dusty intake tubes on every fleece filter equipped engine. Even seen chips on the turbine wheels of 7.3 powerstrokes from crap getting thru.

Wade if you don't check an air filter you deserve to lose a turbo, seriously, check the little stuff.

I really like the look of this car. I wasn't real keen on the placement of the side view mirrors originally, but they are growing on me and when you think about it they are probably even more functional then the traditional placement of side views. They probably cover your blind spot better.
