MCM, bought a Bossco all aluminium self assembly canopy for my 2019 VW Rooter last month. First time doing anything like that and needed help adjusting the rear canopy door. It’s a quality product with no windows and sold out west by Bossco. Rob spent about an hour sorting it out for me and didn’t hit me up for anymore cash. It’s super light and has way better static and dynamic weights than your current canopy. If you’re thinking of swapping it out I’d recommend swinging by their shop and taking a look if you have the time. I’m not associated in anyway with these blokes just a fan of MCM and an online customer of Bossco. Also it’d be good content and help a lot of blokes putting these and similar canopies together on the kerb or driveway.

ROH recently released the bronze centre in the Assault, available in a range of sizes. The assault is an awesome rim, however, the small holes around the outside make it a pain in the ass to clean (ask me how I know). Also, that hanger tool is also designed to prevent damage being done to the disc when fitment of the wheel if it was to drop. On some VW models, they come with carbon fibre discs, weighing in at $2500 each. VW specifies in their workshop manual to use that tool to prevent damaging the disc as a fracture can occur if the wheel is dropped on a disc upon fitment of the wheel to the vehicle. Keep it up chaps, and Moog, hit me up for some Classic Mini eps 😎

most german manufacturers use BOLTS for wheels because they are considered a wear item. they are meant to be replaced every so often (i dont know the interval) and replacing BOLTS is just as easy as getting a new package, whereas replacing aged studs takes a TON of work.
@thisnthat35303 ай бұрын
So you're saying German manufacturers use cheap garbage metal for their wheel bolts? Studs are not a wear item and last the lifetime of the vehicle. I've never had to replace a single one even though I keep cars until they're well into their 20s. Even if one did eventually need replacing, it'd be less overall work than all the extra f**king around *every single time a wheel is removed from the vehicle* when bolts are used.
@PerunLeDoucheTheSquareSpectrum3 ай бұрын
@@thisnthat3530 German vehicles need to be safe to travel on the Autobahn chap. Higher level of safety required as well as a LOT more wear when a vehicle is expected to be doing 100+mph legally, often, for extended periods of time. Wheels studs or bolts failing at 70mph, eh, not that big a deal. You'll survive. At 120mph or more? Yeh nar, not worth the risk. It makes a lot of sense to test the longevity and replace them before they fail on you and get you or someone else killed. The stud bolts will also get fucked much sooner when people ugga dugga the nuts on excessively. You must be an idiot if it makes sense to you to assume German engineering is cheap. They often make things more complicated than might be necessary or more expensive to repair. But no sane person with any knowledge of engineering would accuse German engineers of cheaping out. They are world renowned for the very exact opposite.

We basically travelled Australia 5 times in it and it was frequently used on thousands of kilometres of dirt roads and tracks in central Queensland and Western Australia. On washed out dirt tracks (not the ridiculously deep ones) my mum used to drive on the ridges to get through. Was it silly? Probably. Did we care? Nope...we mostly always travelled with 2 cars (a HZ Kingswood wagon) so we had emergency assistance with the other car.

The amarok doesn't have studs because every other VW has bolts. So they went with the parts they already had. Also in countries with a lot of salt on the road you'd prefer bolts, because it's easier to clean the contact surface of the hubs. Which you should do on every wheel change, because you don't want to have rust between the contact surfaces of your wheel and hub. When you torque down your wheel and there's rust inbetween, the rust gets grinded down into smaller particles while driving and your wheel bolts or nuts will become loose.
