Everybody forgot about Julio Franco. Julio is a Dominican former professional baseball player and coach, who is a hitting coach for the farm team of the Lotte Giants of the KBO League. He spent most of his playing career in Major League Baseball (MLB), entering the major leagues in 1982 and last appearing in 2007, at which time he was the oldest active big league player. During that stretch, Franco also spent two seasons playing in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) and one season playing in the KBO. Batting average .298 Hits 2,586 Home runs 173 Runs batted in 1,194

@wind_runner68365 ай бұрын
Agreed, perfectly explained.
@MatthewRossNerd4 ай бұрын
I think you got Griffey's stance/swing wrong. First off, he had this little arm pump while waiting for the pitch. HIs elbow would go up and down. Second, his swing ended always ended only holding on to the bat with his right hand, and the arc of his swing would end the the bat lower. Oh and one more thing... Smooth. Everybody knows his swing was silky smooth. Check out his official logo which shows his swing. The swing arc was upward, but came back down behind him with the single hand. I'd be interested to find out if that made a difference in how it felt for you.

When i played amateur baseball at the age of 38, I went into a slump. Started my 3rd season going 0-12 with 5 strikeouts. I felt my swing slow down, so i did the wide stance with no step, just a fast turn of the hips. After that, my next 6 at bats, I went 4-6 with 4 doubles and no strikeouts. All of the hits went further than I usually hit. Just because it doesn't work for you doesn't mean it doesn't work. I ended up hitting .323 that season.
