4:09 Ava’s insight and willingness to accept that others with an opposite personality may think she’s a bad friend is golden wisdom. Rejection is hard for most adults and you can sense Ami’s possible discomfort too. You may have squirmed as well. Then the gold star moment was when Ava added that essentially the personality who thinks she’s a bad friend would actually be wrong. That takes tremendous insight and self-confidence to hold that core sense of self in the midst of a world full of other people. Well-done family!!

Ava’s comment about being a good or bad friend really touched me because it takes a lot for people to realise that what they think is good might not be good to others. It’s an amazing level of consciousness. I’m impressed.

answers from a 13 year old (sorry if these suck, I did this at like midnight): 1. I believe you become an adult when your brain fully develops, which is around 25. Legally, 18 is fine for an adult. 2. I just want to tell someone "shut up" without them treating it like a commit a war crime 💀 3. the ability to write things, I will have to write many papers, emails, and applications later 4. I try to be, but no one is perfect 5. there would be less animal abuse I guess? there would be more vegetarians but we don't have to worry about stupid things like "empathy for animals", right? 🙃 6. no 7. 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀 not answering this one 8. I don't want to be famous, that would be annoying 9. I agree with the lack of freedom thing and the fact that one of my parents are condescending, but there is not much to say because being a kid is the easiest part of life 10. ask them a couple times then threaten some punishment such as an infraction (if the school has that system) or a detention, I thought it was funny that the four year old just said "nah, I'd just defenestrate them" 💀 11. unlimited budget I presume? this is a hard one, I'd say a plane ticket to some vacation spot with some things booked (different times ofc because I don't want billions of people in the same spot at once), the reason I don't say clean water is because it gets dirty easily and it's very hard to store 12. keep an open mind, you'll find some friends eventually lmao, everything will work out and end eventually 13. I'm not going to put effort into this one 14. universal cure for cancer or smth idk I'm tired 15. one rule? don't kill each other, discriminate against each other, or purposefully inconvenience each other (most of this is already a law in most places but I think people should be forced to follow this) some of these were interesting, thanks

At that age, actually, we still learn how to read and write. It’s not over when you know how to read sounds, it’s about understanding text, but also subtext, using strategies, we go further. We also learn to read and write new types of texts (informative, narrative, etc.). We keep learning for YEARS how to read and write! Teacher here…

In my opinion if a person has an opposite personality to you it might not work out but it can also work on the same time its like the phrase opposites attract but on some occations it might not. I love the kids opinions on these questions it shows how they think of life and adult life.
