I suffer from these. Used to be once or twice a year. Now it's more like once or twice a month. It's so scary. I used to love driving. Now I'm afraid to drive more than a few miles from home.

I had my first hemiplegic migraine a year ago. In the past year, I have had 1-2 hemiplegic migraines a month but sometimes it’s more often. Last week, I had three. Mine usually starts with the visual loss and then the numbness spreads from my one of my hands to up my arm to my face. After those symptoms go away, I then have a horrible headache for several hours. It’s only been a year so I’m still trying to find the treatment that works best for me. No idea about my triggers yet, either. Wishing all the best to those of you that also struggle with migraines. I absolutely didn’t understand how bad they are until I had my first one.

I started suffering these silent migraines and hemiplegic migraine over the last two years. At first I had them once or twice a in 6 months, but post covid i went through a phase of about 4 weeks of constant pain/weakness down the left side. I knew nothing about HM but I am now seeing the team at bhmc and hoping to get on top of them asap

I've gone to every doctor and done every test they can think of and they still have no idea what's going on with me.. I'm crippled by my migraines now and about to lose a job I love and worked for years to get.. what should a person do when they've supposedly already tried everything??

I've just started having them, 4-5 in the last week or so. I didn't take much notice of the first two because I didn't think it would continue, but starting to get scared now. My first thought was that these are possibly being caused by Stress! I live in a very stressful cramped household with very stressed and argumentative people.

@@lauramakin834 they are caused by stress and the lack of taking care of the body for me personally you can live with it I haven’t had one in more than 5 years and I’m 19 and had a handful of them

This video was helpful as I too get Silent Migraines and I feel I don’t relate to other migraine sufferers who have so much pain and I have very little. So here is someone like me. I too get these rarely (3 in 3 years) now.

That's very interesting, Claire, and good that they're not very frequent! Yes we do see patients with these silent migraines, and treat them very similarly to people who get "loud" migraines. It's not just you!

Bertrand I got my daith pierced recently and it has helped my migraines massively, having my pierce encourages other people to get it to as I get at least 1 person everyone two days asking questions about it and saying they suffer as well and is thinking about getting it done!😃

Awesome to hear from others that suffer from the same silent and/or Hemiplegic migraines. Currently going through the ER and neurologist process myself after my second incident of stroke like symptoms without headache. Ty for posting!

Apologies for the late reply Cody, and that's amazing that the daith piercing has helped! From a scientific perspective, I'm unsure why it would have, but I'm glad it did.
