Jeff Ulricksen from the University of Rhode Island joined Chris Akin from Paratum Solutions to discuss the role of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in space planning and management.
Jeff discussed URI's need to replace their current campus space management system, INSITE, with a more user-friendly system like ArcGIS Indoors.
Jeff highlighted the challenges and benefits of converting, cleaning, manipulating, and publishing URI's existing space data into the ArcGIS Indoors environment. He also discussed the importance of collaboration between GIS and space management staff for successful projects. Jeff also walked through the implementation of the GIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Indoor systems.
Jeffrey then reported significant progress with the ArcGIS Pro extension license and the potential for collaboration with campus facility operations and planning construction teams.
