Ma’am you conduct this program in an exceptional manner and your kindness and warmth shine through. I guess it’s not a coincidence that linkages to India and shared Hindu Muslim traditions are a part of almost all the episodes. It’s a pleasure. You and your husband are truly an amazing couple. Yes I agree and I read that earlier Jinnah was member of Congress and a simultaneously he became member of Muslim League. He never wanted Muslim state. And he was against partition.. but many other Hindu leaders at that time were interested because of their high ambitions to get Political positions and pressurised to do partition. Sad story it was. I can't find any cultural difference in India and Pakistan we share same history, tastes, foods and rituals. In literature we had been reading stories of Manto. Manto jitne aapke hain utne hi hamare bhi hain. It's also correct many Kashmiris used to migrate to Punjab. Carpet making came with them. Jugnuji I liked your description and presentation. It has always been very nostalgic.

Not really. Colonial british raj was quite an artificial state and so would've been its successor mega state. We have to remember that different nations lived under kingdoms in South Asia even before the british raj. I know people like to romanticize a "subcontinent" state but its just that i.e. romanticization not reality. As far culture is concenerned there are many differences but you have to look at them with glasses of reality not nostalgia. While punjabis in pk may share links with sikhs in india they don't with rest of the india.

Jugnu Mam, If you know my mother’s grandfather ( dada), Haji Munshi Nizamuddin, his name and picture in top 100 Kashmiri families. He was the founder of Anjuman e himayat e Islam. Two of his son in laws were Ministers, I remember one name Malik khuda Bukhsh Bucha. My mom tells me that he he used to work as Accountant General for Rani of Bhopal. He was a very influential person in India but did not claim much when he migrated to Pakistan. He managed all accounts of Pakistan movement. Please do let me know if you know our family. Infact, my mom said that her dada ‘s picture is still in Islamia College Lahore.

Jugnu has a class. I was posted in Kashmir thus understand this family pretty well and also understand Kashmir Valley and her people. Saadat Hasan Manto was the greatest; that is most creative of this clan. What is the origin of Manto? He was from the Kashmiri Central Asian Aryan ethnicity background of Kashmiri Hindus whose ancestor had converted to Semitic-Islam a great religion like any other. There is a foreign agenda to mix Punjab with Kashmir or vice-versa for the future agenda of some foreigners and we know who they are! I am a proud Jat-Sikh and also proud Punjabi and might mention Punjabis are distinct from Kashmiris and vice-versa. None is superior both are great but do not mix them as this is absolute rubbish. A Punjabi can not understand Kashmiri and vice-versa and also little similarity in looks, food, culture, etc. The Indian subcontinent is a diverse one yet colorful and will stay that way. In his letter to Pandit Nehru Manto wrote he felt proud being a Kashmiri and Kashmiris are a beautiful nation. In my opinion so is Punjab and other regions of our subcontinent. This is genuine Kashmir for you people living in Pakistan: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5_IpWOdgZllq5I

Jugnu ji.. With due respect 14 Aug is not Pakistan's Independence day but formation day. There was no Pakistan before 15 Aug 1947 and no Pakistan under British rule. It was India that was ruled by various dynasties including the British. You can ckearly find this if yoh go through the Indian Independence Act 1947.

It was a very interesting show. You talked quite elaborately about Sadat Hussain Manto. But you were quite silent about his grand daughter Ayesha Jalal's husband Sugats Bose , Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's grand son professor of history in Harvard USA. Shall be highly obliged if you could put some light on this side. As regards partition it is a fact MA Jinnah wantef to make an Islamic state and all his statement that in Pakistan state and religion will not have any relation and everybody is free to practice his religion is all false . Jinnah snd only Jinnah is responsible for the devastation of Partition. You can get the true story from the book JINNAH , success and failure by Dr Istiaq Ahmed published from Penguin India.

Nothing wrong with partitioning a colonial state. It was already "partitioned" before the anglos conquered it and amalgamated into a kingdom. For example my grandfather lived in separate Sindh under a Sindhi kingdom called talpurs. About 80-90 years before 1947 they were conquered by the British and merged with British India. Ever since then we were hoping to be again be free from the colonial state and we got the chance in 47. We don't need a permission from say a marathi, bihari, mallus etc to do this you know.

If you want to read about Jinah then read by Volpeet or by Jaswant Singh available in India. Jinnah was secular from head to toe
@dipakdasgupta2527
@dipakdasgupta2527 4 жыл бұрын
@@irfanhuq5918 Jinnah's secularism was all drama. After 1940.he became communal head to toe. He wanted an Islamic nation that's why he created Pakistan. He encouraged direct action plan for great Calcutta killing of 16th August of 1946 to demand seperate muslim country. After the division when there was massive pogrom in west Punjab and to retaliate it India started the same operation in east Punjab then he realised by the load of refugee Pakistan will collapse. To avoid that he gave that speech in Pakistan everybody is free to practice his own religion and state is independent of religion. He gave that speech also to give a message to congress in India that Hindus are safe in Pakistan so don't drive out muslims from India. So his entire speech was drama. Because of his double standard doing PhD or MPhil on Jinnah was not allowed in Pakistan. To know about Jinnah you don't have to read a book by a foreigner. You will get true information from a book written by a muslim of Pakistan, Dr. Istiaq Ahmed, published by Penguin , India. This book will be available in Pakistan from September 2020.

@@dipakdasgupta2527 It is obvious you are manufacturing your own facts and writing your own history . you can own interpretation but you cannot on the facts. What is so great about the killing of Calcutta and what is solittle about killing of Noakhali.and what about the killing and riots s that happen in Bihar where Nehru Patel everyone attended after the massacar and Jinah's speech was an 11th August 1947 addressing the constituent assembly ,4 it before the independence. And what is wrong by reading a book by a foreigner and what about jaswant Singh your foreign minister who wrote 700 pages on Jinah The problem is that your mind is impregnated with hate the same as Modi, the person with fascist ideology who was member of RSS which followed Gustapo in uniform and behaviour. All the advances that India had made all these years were because of the 60 years of Congress. You had Manmohan Singh The economist and many other leaders. you are silent about the killing in Gujrat which was by the chief minister at that time the present day Modi. read some books and improve your understanding of the history. But if you are reading only to reinforce the Hatred that you have in your heart then it is hard to discuss anything with you , also how did you get a hold of a book on Jinnah by a Pakistani which is not available in Pakistan yet that is little surprising to me and I would like to know the answer.
