There s a price for authenticity among common scared people who just exist only to breath life and move on. And then there are masterminds like Miguel, Lee, John, Thierry, Jean Paul, Rei, Rick, Martin that have another caliber and solar system that transcends to another realm. In some cases loneliness of spirit, loneliness for communication, isolation because of misunderstanding can make or break a human. One thing is certain : we will never ever see such geniuses in fashion again simply because fashion died an ugly death sometime in 2015. As a Gen X I salute and celebrate the fact that in my lifetime I had the pleasure to experience these incredible talents that made my life on this earth such a blessing. Real talent always stands the test of time and Miguel s work and personality is up there with the best trailblazing renegades who shook our fashion brains and gave some warmth to many cold blooded industry hearts ❤

Muchas gracias por mostrar este documental. Desde siempre mis diseñadores favoritos fueron Galliano, Mcqueen, Vivienne Westwood y Androver. Unos se adaptaron al "mundo corporativo" mejor que otros. La pérdida de Mcqueen es imperdonable, fruto de este sistema abusivo que es la moda; crean "enfant terrible" pero luego les piden que sea "vendible"(Galliano, McQueen, Kirchoff). Y la verdad es que la gente no quiere usar ropa original. Quiere verla en las revistas o en las tiendas, pero no se la pone. Yo siempre he ido 10 años adelantada, y no encajo en ninguna parte. Vestía con ropa de mis abuelos: botas de regar del campo, el fajín de mi abuelo, el corsé ortopédico de mi abuela y su vestido negro de boda. Mi madre no me dejaba salir de casa "así vestida" y me cambiaba en el ascensor. Cuando conocí la moda alternativa japonesa por un momento me dio un soplo de aire, pero al final, la gente se junta en "tribus urbanas" con muchísimas reglas. Las personas auténticas no tienen cabida en este mundo. La gente deja de usar la ropa porque "se pasa de moda", no usa el amarillo "pues da mala suerte"... Yo he usado ropa diez tallas más grande... no me importaba. Cogía ropa de mercadillos (como Miguel al parecer) o del armario de mis padres y la sujetaba con un cinturón o cualquier cosa. Al principio no sabía coser, sujetaba todo con imperdibles. Hacía eso que ahora se llama "upcycling" tuneando ropa de saldos. Yo aprendí a realizar fichas técnicas, a coser, patronar... Miguel es del tipo de diseñadores que hacen un dibujito y luego necesitan a gente que sepa de qué habla, como Karl Lagerfeld; y de los que rozan la apropiación cultural, como Galliano. La moda es una profesión muy muy dura. Tienes que saber mucho y por lo general te pagan poco. Si no fuera por todas esas llamadas "petit mains" no habría desfiles. En las Escuelas de Diseño aprenden extravagancias, pero no a saber coser bien. El mundo está muy loco, y paradójicamente, los locos no caben en él.
