My grandson, at the age of 16 said, "there's no point in following your dreams, they don't really mean anything anyway." When I heard him say that I asked him to sit down, that I needed to tell him a story, a story about a man that chose to follow his dreams. And I can't really think of a better, or truer story than that of Kris Kristofferson. They say that Nashville TN is the song writers capital, that all has to do with this man. After I told my grandson the story, he now chooses to follow his dreams, and become who he chooses to be. Larry Gatlin, of the Gatlin brothers once said, "Every word in every song you've ever heard is in the dictionary, but no one knew how to put them together quite like Kris Kristofferson. Thank you!

Ray Price never lost his ability to sing. Sounded just as good in his golden years, as his young years. No auto tune. Just great singing.
@elvis2014 Жыл бұрын
Hi Ruby, it finally came to me, Crazy Arms is the song where Ray really cuts loose, I mean my memory? There's just no excuse, I hope you can find it here and it goes back quite a few years possibly `70s or 80`s. I believe he was on somebody`s show possibly Ralph Emory? Ruby, I'm 65 yrs. old I`ve seen a lot of great ole boys and girls come and go from Jim Reeves to Patsy Cline from Hawkshaw Hawkins to Harlan Howard who wrote solid gold with every line. Like yourself You and I have seen careers run hot and cold so that is why with great conviction I can confidently say that Ray Price`s performance just blew me away because this is the first and only time I had the opportunity to see him that relaxed with that much freedom that free. Now I know why Daddy didnt like the crayon on his LP lol God Bless you Ruby

Hi Rod, I`m gainin on ya at 65 and I just finished writing war and peace over here, I didn't know I knew that much about Kris or more likely I just took the long way around the barn as usual. While I`m here I am damn sure going to congratulate you for writing approx. 25 words and receiving 116 likes including mine. You were concise and to the point. I have pieces of lyrics lying here and there so I just began writing lyrics that rhyme in my comments. Been doin it maybe 3 yrs at least and I have never surpassed 16 so far and since 2012 all mine put together do not eclipse you Sir, Mr. Cramb you are one of my new heroes, God Bless you and your family and friends.

@rodcramb9401~~I'm 68 also and I grew up listening to a variety of music that I listened to with my little transistor radio~~My parents weren't really music people~~But from a very young age I always felt better listening to my lil radio~~All genres of music~~I'm still the same way~~I don't know what I would do if I couldn't listen to music~~I have many playlists on my utube account~~I'll never forget back in the late 80's I took my Ma to a concert which included my favorite, Linda Ronstadt, Willie Nelson, Emmy Lou Harris and The Stray Cats~~At the time I really wanted to see Linda~~But I ended up loving all of them~~They all were so awesome and put on one heck of a show~~I love a lot of country from back in the day even if I'm a classic rock listener~~What blows me away is that over the years I found out how many songs I listen to that Kris wrote~~Never knew what a great song writer he was/is~~My ultimate respect goes out to all the country artists from back in the day and to many of our current artists~~Have a wonderful day~~😄😄😄💗💗💗

He was so intelligent he told West Point he didn't want to teach and then he probably told his father the General as he stayed out of reach. For 25 years they disowned their son and then they ignored his success as he wrote songs that were classics after weeks of being number one. He never spoke to his father again as he passed but I think his Mom was sitting next to him during his first tribute but they did it way too early but he was all alone in his class. Thanx for not teaching Kris.

As a student at a university in Zambia, I introduced myself to Kris Kristofferson's songs via KZbin. I got hooked. I would listen to his songs as I worked on my assignments late in the nights. I am amazed at his writing skills; depth of love, empathy, sadness and happiness, all encapsulated in a song. A gift to humanity he has been!

I love when people find his history for the first time. He is such a great example example of the reason you don't make presumptions about someone from their look alone. The man is brilliant accomplished in multiple fields, and he still chose the rugged uncharted territory to build a career and leave multiple marks going beyound composer to published singer and actor.

When my friend Charlie died last year I almost stopped the music in my life because of the heartache. Then I heard KRIS and realized our trade is all about love and heartache. Our music will NEVER die because of our legends,and our love for them. Love you forever sweetheart
