I’m 73, old Skool Jazz dancer. I love watching these styles evolve! This is one I can do! Break dancing not so much 😂😱

My brother and I started the first breakdance "crew" in our hometown in So Cal (1983-85) right around the same time as "Breakin". I was the popper, my brother did the floor work. This is a really good drill to get back in shape. Thanks!
@heinzh56873 жыл бұрын
Hi David, we're probably about the same age, pretty cool to see an popper like myself here checking these videos out. I wish we would have had youtube back in the early 80s we could've learned a lot more and incorporated new stuff to our routines
@WanaBeKenobi3 жыл бұрын
@@heinzh5687 Awesome... sorry, Radical Hienz! I just turned 52 and haven't stopped poppin'. We used to ride the bus with a handful of cardboard, down to Laguna Beach, here in California, where we would dance with the locals. We also like to use a 10'x10' piece of linoleum and a can of pledge... head-spins or back-spins went on pretty much forever. Fun times. Eventually, some of the guys starting fighting and tagging buildings, and the group kind of fell apart. Such is life.
@heinzh56873 жыл бұрын
Wow, I wish I would have know about the pledge, that's ingenious. Speaking of tagging my back yard wall got tagged a few weeks ago 😞. These kids are tagging everything here. Fortunately the city came out and repainted my wall for free..lol

I was always a breaker back in the day but my 50 year old body doesn't quite have the flexibility now to do it without being sore for a week afterward 😁. I was never quite as good at poppin but I've been getting back in to practice with help from videos like these.
@rowanwindsong3 жыл бұрын
Hi, this was a very helpful video. I'm just wondering if when he's doing this are his abs engaged and his back and shoulder muscles also tight? Because it looks like it but it's hard to tell under all the clothes. It will be nice to see someone doing this honestly with just some shorts on so we can see the muscle work up close.
@TheSubwaysurfer4 жыл бұрын
I believe it really HEALTH you’re popping if you do physical exercises that require you to relax and contract your muscles. Push-ups and especially lifting weights helps you to get that muscle memory going especially contracting
