When testing the smallest weights, it should be done by putting the lowest amount of force on a cast, not casting over the shoulder with all your strength. Of course a baitcaster with a heavy spool will accelerate fast enough to cast sub 1g lures, even much heavier spools will do it. The advantage of light, shallow spools is that they accelerate instantly, even with ultra light lures, something that you wouldn't be able to do accurately with the Silver Feather. Imagine you're fishing trout in a tiny stream with bushes and trees everywhere around you. Can you cast over the shoulder like you're doing in the video? No. Instead, your only option would be small side casts and flipping lures, and that is where the Alphas Air, Aldebaran BFS, etc will be significantly better than this Chinese garbage.

Hi, thanks for the feedback. However, I can assure you that the spool of this coil weighing 9.58 grams is capable of a fast start. And two reasons contribute to this. Firstly, the large weight of the spool is due to the presence of a heavy magnet, which in turn is located near the axis and practically does not participate in the inertia of the spool. Secondly, the braking system of this coil is designed in such a way that, unlike magforce and ftb, it can adjust the braking force according to the algorithms laid down and not over-strain the spool at the very beginning of casting, giving it quite easy to unwind to optimal speeds. In daiwa and shimano, the increase in the brake gear is always proportional to the increase in the speed of the spool, which is not a plus for the ease of casting. In this video, I deliberately make the coil stressful, I want to understand its capabilities. In the following videos on my channel, there are also more restrained casts of very small baits, with a total weight of up to one gram. The coil is definitely not bad, there is something to compare it with. In constant use daiwa gekkabijin air, alphas air with KKP, RORO, AMO, Aldebaran bfs 22 with AMO spools. So, in terms of casting quality, Silver Feather in stock is not even bad compared to daiwa and shimano. Undoubtedly, I do not put them in the same row due to the quality of manufacture ;)

@@baitraner_84 I own the Shimano Cardiff 50 DC for a long time now, its the same thing with the magnets on the axle of the spool. The closer it is to the axle, the easier it'll turn, sure, but its still counts for the total rotating mass of the spool. I just found your channel, so i don't know how you test your bfs gear, but generally speaking, everytime i see people test them on youtube, everyone is ALWAYS casting over the should with full force, even tho, most of those daiwa and shimano bfs reels are made for trout fishing in streams, and you would never be casting like that in those conditions. I'd like to see this reel do well in short accurate casts because i have not yet seen any Chinese DC or Shimano DC reels do as well as a fixed inductor spool from daiwa (like the PX68 Finess Special spool that i personally use a lot in my Pixy).

​@@V_E_G_E_T_A_R_DOurs and your terms are obviously very different ;) In general, most fishermen in Russia are more charged for casting range, and bfs/xul is no exception here. Our spaces are not small and sometimes it is necessary to get to the fish. I perfectly understand what you are talking about, fishing for a relatively short time in cramped conditions with maximum accuracy, mainly brook trout. This philosophy is very close to me. I will definitely continue testing in this direction, megabass Great Hunting 484 extreme clamber is waiting for its turn. But again, in such conditions, the total weight of the baits will be from 1.5 grams, and this is no longer a difficult task ;) In the meantime, I am looking for answers to the questions that our fishermen most often have. @@baitraner_84 I am from Canada, its the same here, for the most part. Most use it for bass and walleye, and there is enough space to cast over the shoulder. Its just that the best way to stress a BFS spool, is to do short accurate casts with no force put into your casts. With the inertia of the spool that you'll get when you put a lot of strength to cast over head, even a 20g spool will be able to cast 1.5g lures, but if you were to try to do short accurate casts, the spool will accelerate so late that it won't be possible to cast accurately, and you will most likely get constant overruns.

​@@V_E_G_E_T_A_R_DThere are no contradictions, I completely agree with you. Although 1.5 and 20 grams of spool is more fun for the sake of the show. This reel needs to be tested on a spinning rod more suitable for dexterity techniques.
