This is one of the best videos of Mijas Pueblo... a place I owned a Boutique in for many years... a place that I miss, yet it is barely recognizable now from how it was in 1977 when I moved back to Canada. I was privileged to live there before it was so developed, when you could walk through the streets and meet the locals walking to the market in the morning. Is the market still there, I wonder? I stood by my friend as she was married in the little grotto chapel there, our little wedding procession walking through the streets. So many wonderful memories of a much smaller Mijas Pueblo. There used to be a little bar on the outskirts of the Village where a few local men would gather for breakfast and play their guitars together... These men were in their senior years the last time I heard them play in 1981, so they have surely passed to Spirit now... Life changes... time passes.... Mijas Pueblo is still beautiful but in a new way. I am so glad I lived there long ago and knew the locals. I wish now that I had been able to visit again... alas, I have not been there since 1981... my last visit to Spain. I lived at "El Porton" a beautiful house halfway between Fuengirola and Mijas Pueblo... My little boy was born when I lived there, and now he is 51 years old... yet it seems like yesterday... I would like to see it again, but I don't think it will happen for me. Thank you for this video. Thankfully my own former shop is still unspoiled as it is in a Heritage building (at 39.24 you see a full view of the Heritage building where I had my Boutique Rudann, and it is now a shop called La Biznaga, (Jasmine Bouquet) and no changes can be made to that building. Upstairs in the building was a very beautiful apartment owned by my Landlady who also owned a lot of houses in Mijas at that time. I wonder if Mijas is still famous for it's honey "Miel de Mijas"... it was costly even when I lived there.
