aaah, PIA 🥰 one of the best musical actresses and singers. Not only known in the Netherlands, also in Germany (where I have seen her several times (btw. also a very humbled and nice person). This song is original in German (Ich gehör nur mir) from the Musical Elisabeth (Princess in Bavaria, later Austrian Habsburger Empress and Queen of Hungary, who was murdered by an Italian Anarchist 1898 in Geneva)

Also Poland was really pleased with her concerts few years ago. She was truly mesmerizing as an artist and very humble and avuncular as a person.

Pia Douwes was one of the first Dutch musical singers to break through in America. I think she even played in Chicago on Broadway

Elisabeth is a musical about Sissi, the empress of Austria, whose actual name was Elisabeth. I remember seeing it couple of years back during performance of the show outside on an actual palace terrain..The musical tells the story of Elisabeth ("Sisi"), the Empress of Austria, from her engagement and marriage in 1854 to her murder in 1898 at the hands of the Italian anarchist Luigi Lucheni, through the lens of her growing obsession with death, as her marriage and her empire crumble around her at the turn of the century. This musical is set in Austria in the late 19th century, at the end of the Habsburg Monarchy, which reigned over Europe for a long time. Coincidentally, Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria fell in love with Elisabeth at first sight, and she became the most beautiful Empress in the European Court at the age of 16. But she was tormented with friction against the Royal court which valued tradition and formality, and she left Vienna in the course of time, passing her days wandering around Europe where she was assassinated by Luigi Lucheni at the end of her journey. Her life is veiled in mystery, and this musical solves it through the fictional existence of "Death" who obsesses and seduces her. This musical depicts the demise of the government by the Habsburg Empire in Central Europe and the germination of a new era. (I took this from wikipedia. Dont know if germination is a good word...)

Pia douwes is one of the best musical if not The Best musical star . From Dutch background flying standing on Broadway and London and flying all over the world ! And everyone adores her. She started Musical when she was 5 . And built and trained herself over and over again. From Le Miserable and Anna Tefka to The Fantom of the Opera and Elisabeth . She is so amazing. And her husband is also in musicals . He played " The Phantom " in that same musical. I can type hours about her work. But really... if you ever have the change to see her in a musical.. GO!

It‘s from the musical „Elisabeth“ about the Austrian Empress Elisabeth. Premiered in Vienna (Austria) and was then played in many countries like Netherlands (where this version is from), Germany and Hungary. As well as some oversea tours in Asia.

I can remember from the musical Oliver Twist here in the Netherlands that there was also a song with a high note. Maybe one of the other Dutchies knows which one i mean..
