They have different feels, the one with Ariana is a lot more upbeat, sounds more fitting as a teen pop anthem. This one is more explicit, more chill, stoner vibe almost lol. Theyre both good, just in different ways

Ugh this version is so much better than the one they made a video for. I think this girl's voice was better suited for the song and I like how it has less going on in the music. I mean I like the other one too, but there's just something about this one that I love. Oh, well. The video for the other version is super fun, though! :)

I keep waiting for this to speed up.....and get more melodic.....spoiler alert it did not But like honestly! The first time I heard this I did not like it at all.... UNTIL the extra verse. That shit won me over. And since then I've listened more and more and I can honestly say I prefer this version now. Did NOT expect to lol, but the reason? This one's just more genuine. Much more genuine than the pop-ified and sanitized, radio friendly version he made with Ariana. I mean I loved that one but when you put them in comparison, it makes it stand out just how saccharine and slick the Ariana version is. However, the Ariana does have the better beat and is more melodic... Ugh my perfect version would be a combination of the two but I guess the universe just wants to deny me :(

The album version is much better. I think he has just made a video for this song in L.A. Love Mika but I think he is all over the place when it comes to releasing singles....makes videos either months before they get released or after then not always the same releases in different countries and he wonders why they're not charting !!

Which is why this one sounds more interesting in my opinion. It's textured, has contrast and therefore works better in my opinion. The Ariana Grande accompaniment sounds too clean and traditional which goes against the themes of the song. I think this is the thematically superior version.
