Right before the pandemic started i was at one of his concerts (february 2020), so many people together, he just walked into the crowd while singing big girl and danced with a couple people, no security to be seen, everyone just loves him and the vibe was incredible. If you ever have the chance to see him live, please PLEASE do so, its absolutely incredible

listening to MIKA way back in 2007 really had a huge impact when I was still figuring out myself amidst the gender normative expectations society placed on me and other girls like me. Growing up I felt like there was something wrong with me... that I was a freak for liking who I liked and that no one would accept me if I came out. But MIKA's music really uplifted me in times when darkness and the heavy weight of expectations and prejudice was unbearable. In more ways artists like MIKA nudged me to slowly accept myself for who I really am and live my truth. WE ARE GOLDEN!!!
