For me, it was the compilation channels that made me feel sympathy for Amber. Because the search results are all screenshots of her from bad angles, making fun of her "waddling" etc. It's the reaction channels that showed me why people feel so strongly about her! Now I get it. So Mr. Snowflakes statement was spot on. Anyone just judging by the thumbnails of those compilation videos would think it's all about fatphobia

Every time I see Snowflake being interviewed or talking I’m just struck by how insanely humble he is. Like sir, you are basically a full fledged documentation and ALR historian and he’s just like “oh I got away with it being rubbish” 😂 Also, Jimmy Bunker is a hard audience to make laugh, but I hope he has accomplished his goals.

i once had a conversation with a friend how making fun of amber on grounds of fatphobia and her being a trainwreck is overshadowing her being abusive to her partners and her relationships being toxic from start to finish. it's easier to just laugh at becky being miserable vs seriously considering 'hey why is amber threatening becky with legal action if she speaks up? what's up with that?'. granted this was before snowflake posted the new videos, and given how much splash they made, i feel like it shown critical approach beyond 'haha the cycle' is very much needed. amber proved through the years that she doesn't care about anything else but youtube checks clearing and finding replacement audience whenever people start to see how she really is and leave

@@foolishlyfoolhardy6004 I agree with what you’re saying about the overall population of KZbin. I suppose when I wrote that, I was thinking of those people who are constantly criticized. Lolcows for lack of a better term. If you look at someone like Boogie who gets criticized constantly about everything from his weight to his “takes”, they also go after him for his dating pool. Then you look at someone like Amber and the focus is on her weight, and as Mika said, the way she says eggs.

The 'cycle of futility' looks like the cycle of addiction. This is the cycle of someone who doesn't want to change and who is trapped in the comfort zone of denial. This cycle repeats the same things year after year. In reality, it requires bravery and discomfort to change your life (and usually professional support - but not always).

It's shocking to me how many female acquaintances of mine admit to secretly checking their partners phone or monitoring their liked photos on Instagram as if it's a funny quirky thing and not abusive behaviour. I feel like female abusive behaviour is minimised/excused because of the patriarchal society it takes place in. It does seem like female abusers get away with it much more easily, Amberlynn Reid and Colleen Ballinger are public examples. I really appreciate you talking about this.
@AliceBunny05

idk if that would fall under the category of abusive so much as insecure and being an invasion of privacy. it's certainly not an okay thing to do but idk if the spectrum of abuse extends quiteee that far.. as someone who often witnessed violent domestic abuse as a child. a lot more things are red flags or are a part of abuse than people outside of those situations would realize, but I really wouldn't consider something like checking a phone or being overly-interested in their social media abusive, unless that is also being expressed in other ways like being controlling. if that's a part of the equation of someone who is trying to control what you do, sure I could see the case for that being abusive. but if this is secretive, yes it's an invasion of privacy and inappropriate, don't think it falls under the definition of abuse. not sure what you would try to classify that under either, not physical or financial or even emotional/mental. I don't condone that behavior in any way, but if it's isolated, I'd say it's more just a mark of immaturity and poor respect than anything else.

46:55 she reminds of Illuminaughtii that way, they both went after younger, just not underage, partners that they met through their channel. Just because they were both ‘smart’ enough not to dip below the legal line doesn’t mean consistently dating younger isn’t something to side-eye

Ive been watching hum for years wayyy before the Amber videos but I still find his framing of the invalidity of Amber's claim on sexual abuse very dangerous. He and his friend question the validity of her accusations in the video (that was a necessity bc she abuses the sympathy of others and lies constantly) but he also said such things as "she couldnt have been abused, she still talked to ... (Idk remember which of her girlfriends it was) years later" and that is extremely dangerous semantics regardless of if she is lying or not. I thought that was unnecessary and weakend the however strong structure of his video.

I'm a baby channel, but I covered the Victims of an Empath video as well, because I felt like it shouldn't be ignored. I grew up in an abusive household, and briefly was in one abusive relationship, so I was furious to hear what happened to Casey. I only started getting into Gorl World last year as I decided to get more serious about my weight loss. It's also why I decided to start my channel. I intend to cover the other Victims videos, as well as the Casey interview... But I got a really bad cold, and it hasn't been conducive to talking (≧▽≦) I might start posting TikToks to warn people as well. This isn't me being petty or jealous, but trying to help (if I can) ensure Amber doesn't get the chance to add another victim to her history. Thank you for highlighting this issue. It shouldn't be forgotten.

I loved Casey was able to tell his truth and his experience with Amber. Amber was fuming inside I'm sure bc she couldn't even try to claim Casey was lying or try to defend herself from what Casey told us. She had no choice but to admit Casey told the truth and hope that the whole thing would blow over since she was younger back then. Casey has something Destiny nor Becky had and that scares Amber to death. If Amber tried to say Casey lied it would open the door to bring up the big elephant in the room which was Ambers slanderous malicious lies accusing Casey of raping and abusing her. Casey got to clear his name when that happened and Amber has hung onto claiming Casey lied denying what she did to her. While we all know Amber lied but if that situation got brought up nowadays she knows everyone would believe Casey because Casey is innocent he didn't rape and abuse Amber and Amber would basically have to publicly admit she lied about Casey and that would probably kill her chanel once and for all bc there's nothing she can do or say to recover from that kind of sick lies.

1:43 come on, you know Snowflake’s videos are NOT “objective.” Of all people, you actually know the difference between “objective” and “subjective.” The “Shaped By the Algorithm “ series is the perfect example of Snowflake’s subjectivity. Look, I think He and Jimmy’s content is decent for where they are currently at, but he is still inexperienced and ad hoc in certain ways. There are overall tonal inconsistencies, and the music choices are heavy-handed and try to direct emotion, rather than support the emotional tone. It has little intellectual depth. It is highly subjective and leaves little room for other perspectives. I think Snowflake and Jimmy are important, interesting creators, but it’s just weird to act like their content is too perfect to critique.
