I've been playing all my life but was never gifted to back up a preacher. Lately I've been hired by a church that has a pastor that wants me to start giving him some musical backup. Jake its called the "Leslie". The Leslie itself is the speaker through which the organ is producing the sound, and we usually put a mic in front of it, similar to a guitar amp. He hits the switch the start the rotary inside the leslie. When it spins, it gives the organ a vibrato. Turning it off takes it away. It's supposed to add a human lung like nature to the hammond, truly making it a living/breathing instrument
