I grew up in San Rafael, CA in the 80's, but being into Van Halen I missed this scene. Mike Clark and Paul Jackson were the funkiest, down and dirty groove rhythm section in history.

Bay Area was just the baddest of the bad not only the East Bay Oakland scene with these cats. Also the Sly Stone scene that came out of a view and of course the Santana scene out of the Mission **** drummers alone which is fabulous like ..Mike Clark, Michael Shrieve, Paul Jackson onBass COKE escovedo and Chepito Areas... cooking on TIMBALESDis so many so much crossover.********* My favourite time in music and the most fertile in my opinion--
