Off the Wall is Mikes best album to me because that’s the REAL Michael Jackson to me. He was fresh off the Jacksons and he didn’t go through any of the physical changes. He still had that soul and the fro. Thriller was more mainstream and didn’t have that soul outside of Human Nature. Both classics tho

@Vernon Johnson I’m Not a girl number one and I know a lot about Mike he’s my fav artist and yes he got his first surgery in 78 which Off the wall was recorded but he did not start going through those changes until Thriller album and then Bad it was worse so stop it. You and most white people love that thriller album soo bad. Mike said it himself Off the Wall is better. Thriller was just more mainstream man and most black people love Off the Wall more than Thriller. Mike still had the fro and he just came off of the Jacksons and the Wiz. Off The Wall is a cohesive jam of an album. Thriller is a collection of great songs. "Thriller" the song actually sounds like a revamp of "Off The Wall" (note the spooky intro on both).

I been saying for years that Off The Wall, Thriller, and Bad = Illmatic, It Was Written, and I Am. Off The Wall and Illmatic are the classic more critically acclaimed albums that people hold near and dear to their hearts. Thriller and It Was Written are MJ's and Nas' highest selling albums respectively...and Bigger records than their predecessors. They are still classics that can be argued to be better than their predecessors, but in reality they are not. Bad and I Am are the 3rd albums in a great run. Both solid albums, but not quite the classic status of the albums that came before them. But both Bad and I Am are commercial successes. Of course Nas 3 albums are no way on the same scale as Mike's. But that analogy works in a vacuum. In the scope of hip hop Nas first 3 albums are comparable.

Off The Wall > Thiller Janet washes Beyonce in a VS Coop is completely right. I felt the same way on the Invincible Album too he last great run was Break of Dawn, Heaven can Wait, You Rock my World, and Butterflies. I always jump to those songs when i play that album.

I vehemently disagree with Mike D, NOTHING MJ did before or after “Rock With You” is better! Rock With You is by far a better song than Billie Jean! It’s a perfect song! Human Nature isn’t better than I Can’t Help It OR Day And Night! Off The Wall was an Album for the people, Thriller was an Album for Any People! That’s the difference! Also, Don’t Stop til You Get Enough was a Massive hit in 79/80, I was 8/9 years old, and Don’t Stop would play 5-10 times in the Skating Rinks!
