Mike Dennis - Another Hour - compilation

A little about my second full length LP, “Another Hour”:
This album was written from scratch, produced, recorded, mixed and mastered in the 28 days of February 2015 for the RPM Challenge (www.rpmchallen...).
There are always ideas on my phone and in notepads in the form of single lines, a chorus, a melody that came to me out walking...So what I did with this album was run with ten of those ideas.
Listening to it now, I can really tell that the production on a lot of it was really rushed but if I was removed from the process and looked at this objectively, I think I'd tell you that a lot of the magic and charm is now missing from recorded music because of the overworking and overproduction of ideas to fit mainstream listening tastes and expectations.
Funnily enough, for something that was made from scratch in a month, I still play a higher percentage of songs from Another Hour in my live set than from any of my other LPs. It's got Men With Guns, Work and Nightmare on it. This version of Nightmare was never as popular live as the Rhapsody in Blue rip that I play today. But this is where the song came from! I sampled the ITN news theme from the 90s for the beat on Crazy & Manic.
