Giardi is right. This is not your typical rookie growing pains. Mayo has not only made ZERO improvements in literally any aspect of coaching, he has inarguably gotten worse since week one in many aspects. He seems to be completely incapable of learning from mistakes and maybe incapable of learning from others. He clearly learned NOTHING from the legends he coached under, and it seems to me that he made ZERO effort to do so. In fact, it seems like just the opposite. He knew for multiple years that he would be the HC and did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to prepare for the job. Not only did he not learn anything from the Greatest of All Time and his staff, he made a conscious decision to ignore his incredible learning opportunity and actively undermined that Legend. Mark my words, Jerod Mayo will not improve. Period. And if he is allowed to, he will leave this franchise in far worse shape than he found it. Not intentionally but through sheer ignorance, inexperience, and a glaring unwillingness to accept responsibility and learn.

Mayo has never even called plays. I don’t think he would even be a good coordinator. He is a historically bad coaching hire. He also wouldn’t take a demotion. He will blame everyone and everything else instead of reflecting on his abysmal performance.

No NFL coach has won a Superbowl without a strong coaching background and many years of experience. Why would we expect Mayo to be differrent? At this rate, Maye will retire before Mayo becomes even a competent coach.

Mayo as a player was a beast he’s passionate and loves the franchise give the man some time before you hang him out to dry. 2nd we have a promising future with a rookie quarterback he needs his time to develop things are looking positive for our pats future

⁠mayo was overrated as a player. Can you name one major game changing play he made during his career. He was a competent to good linebacker at best as a player. Nice steady guy. He was no Teddy Bruschi, or Rob Ninkovich or Mike Vrabel. I wish him well in the future but his lack of serious coaching experience is hurting the rebuilding of this team. He will be gone after next season. In a rebuild you need an experienced coach with a ling term vision.

The defense needs an overhaul at CB, LB, and DE - Coach! Offense looks to be going at least in the right direction. I want see the offensive line with Lowe OLT, Strange at LG, Brown/D Andrews at C, L.Roberts at RG, M.Ewenu at RG. Before i right them off. Obviously we need a left tackle from either free agency, or the draft, or both. Id be targeting DJ Metcalf, and Tee Higgins for your big play makers. Pay them 5 yrs 35 mil and if it cost this yr second round pick for Metcalf then do it. Hes a proven stud! In the draft id be going to work drafting a LT (J.Simmons from Ohio State, or Banks from Texas) with our first pick. After trading down 3-4 spots from the first pick overall. In that trade back we would be getting the pick swap plus this yrs 2nd giving us two high second round picks. I want 4-5 of this yrs first 100 players taken on my team. This rebuild doesn't have to take 4-5 yrs to rebuild. With those 4-5 picks id be takeing LT, CB, DE, LB, (CB) They have the money their going to have the picks. A year removed from Bill B. This next season will be Mayos team. Coaching changes - DC -ir tarhet Salahs. He did wonders in NY with the defense. WR coach. We need experience back there. It can not be that hard to teach guys to run the right routes, or to make sure there running the extra couple yrds to be able to pick up the first down. (Bourne week 10, or11)

I don't see how the Krafts can bring Mayo back next year unless he takes over the defense now and shows the fan base that he was not simply holding Belichick's clip board the 5 years Mayo was the de facto defensive coordinator for Belichick. If Mayo doesn't do that, he has no chance of winning over the fan base next year or beyond.

The dark days will continue without any bright nights so long as Mayo stays in at head coach. Drake has all the ability in the world and hasn’t even grew into his grown man frame yet and hasn’t even begun to tap into his full potential, and it’s all for naught because the man behind the playbook is in over his skis and is a complete albatross to this franchise.

They can't beat anyone in their last 4 games, unless Buffalo benches all their starters. Mayo lost 3 or 4 games, just because he is clueless as a head coach. He can't coach away all the penalties. He can't even handle the basics of clock control. Kraft CAN'T fire him. It's such a waste, giving a high draft pick to a rookie coach.
