AYREON surprises everyone each time. But, to compensate this short one, I would suggest a very unusual video, *_The Day That The World Breaks Down_* which is a song that features 11 (quite well known) main guest singers (you’ll be surprised) and is taken from an album called The Source (2017). Arjen Anthony Lucassen's progressive rock/metal opera project Ayreon is just amazing & the only real problem I have with this performance by the three queens of metal, Anneke ,Floor & Marcela, is that it's far too short.

Well Ginger, the blonde is Anneke. Dutch godmother of female fronted prog/metal since The Gatherings landmark album 'Mandylion', and Devin Townsends hero and Metal Tinkerbell. The one who inspired many female vocalists to lead goth/symph metal bands. And with a very unique timbre and vocal performance overall. No need to tell you two which signature performances to check for her. You got them all posted on various reaction comments sections and in your mailbox. Marcela is also worth checking out for her work with MaYaN and others. There are undoubtedly people with good suggestions on what to check for her. Like Floor, both of them have contributed to Arjen's Ayreon projects and collaborated with him on a few others for a long time now. I bet there will be more Ayreon videos worth checking popping up in this comments section. I wish to stress their mutual project 'The Gentle Storm' which you may fancy a lot. That was a project based on a concept by Arjen and Anneke where Arjen composed the music, Anneke wrote the lyrics . And they collaborated with a great set of musicians and arrangers from the broad Ayreon catalogue to produce a beautiful double album 'The Diary' with a gentle and a storm version of each song. Arjen and Anneke toured together doing an intimate acoustic 'gentle' version and they formed a very skilled band for a series of concerts performing the 'storm' version. In that tour Marcela joined and supported in a wide range of beautiful harmonies with Anneke, and they even did some great renditions of The Gathering and Devin Townsend Project songs. Anekke has a new album coming up. A single called Hurricane recently came up, in case you want to explore her voice again. She's got a rather unique voice. Marcela is a bit of a pocket rocket... She played backup in this song, but she has a set of lungs on her! Her new band is called Dark Horse White Horse, the single there is "Judgement day". Not making requests since I know you've probably got a billion songs thrown at you in every video, but a little bit of info for fellow commenters here who may be interested in these singers. Most of us know Floor's recent releases anyway. Always thrilled when you do Ayreon. I remember your comments in Nightwish - The Greatest Show on Earth, and thought Ayreon would actually appeal to both of you. Arjen does Science Fiction in every album. The common theme is about an advanced ancient civilisation that gave too much power to robots and is being wiped out. The blond is Anneke van Giersbergen who used to be singing with The Gathering, who were real metal pioneers creating a very atmospheric type of metal that would become very influential. If you want to check her more of her or The Gathering then look up the live performance of the song Travel (which lyrically is inspired by Mozart’s life story) from the TG25 live show by The Gathering. That was a show that featured almost all of singers that once had sung with The Gathering. The performance is one of Anneke’s best and in the end section all singers join in (it was the final song of the set).

Anneke has a new album of just Acoustic stuff and it comes out near the end of the month. She has eleased 2 singles. The Promise and Hurricane. The red/blond lady is Anneke van Giersbergen, first band: The Gathering, Agua de Annique, The Devin Townsend Project, Lorrainville, VUUR, nowadays solo career. The lady on the right is Marcela Bovio,(Marcela Alejandra Bovio Garcia) came from Mexico to the Netherlands years ago to start a musical collaboration with Ayreon (Arjen Lucassen, primary lyrics writing). For a long time she had her own band: Stream Of Passion, since 2016: MaYaN (together with Mark Jansen from Epica). Marcela you have seen before at another Ayreon song live together with Floor's sister Irene as background singers (also standing at the right side) together with Lisette van den Berg band: Scarlet Stories positioned in the middle. Anneke has worked with Devin Townsend, maybe you've seen her face in recommendations or whatnot, and of course she showed up at the end of Eye Of Ra Marcela won a tryout Arjen had, and moved to the Netherlands, works a lot with him, (part of it was yet another a band he put together) and is in other projects. I am a huge Nightwish fan but the blonde who is Anneke Van Giersbergen is my favorite female vocalist. She has a long history first making it big with a band called The Gathering in the mid 1990's. A personal favorite of mine (and kinda unusual) is a solo on Pink Floyd's "Wish you were here" while on tour with "The Gentle Giant" - another one of Arjen's (Ayreon) side projects - live in Paris april 22, 2015. Anneke is another great Dutch talent ,I love her when she sang with the group Amorphis with the song Amoungst the stars . It's sounds a bit like Disney meets metal
