The humidity is killer, I am a native Floridan and I still get overheated at the parks but I know when I get overheated, cooling towels help a lot also gateroade or powerade to replace electrolytes and limit alcohol, glad everyone was ok. Also take breaks during hottest part of the day, Epcot world showcase gets really hot with virtually no shade.

Not heat stroke..but I fell at Epcot on our last trip. A really hard fall..just full out. Security guard came up in moments..helped me up. When I got very dizzy moments later..he called EMTs...they were there in couple of minutes. They told me they are always there..behind the scenes. Got me bandaged and into a free wheelchair. Don't hesitate to get help!! They were so great!

Oh my goodness guys, I was crying in the middle of this. That fear, that worry about how the kid is doing and feeling, that desire to have everything under control. Thank Goodness for Taylor and Josh! Thank you for doing this vlog. Humidity sucks out so much more than people think. Look into liquid IV at Costco. It's a powder you add to water to increase absorbablity. Or add honey or molasses plus a little sea salt to a bottle of water. Plain water is hard to absorb. When I went into labor I made a few bottles of black strap molasses, Vitamineral Green, and Celtic grey salt to get me through. I'm so glad you're okay and that you let us all know. Big hugs!

Mike, I am glad you are OK. I experienced heat stroke/exhaustion when I was around 7 at Knotts Berry Farm. I remember the "out of body" feeling. I jokingly blame Ralph's supermarket, where they pulled my name in a Knotts ticket raffle. Ralph's is certainly not to blame, and the Knotts' first aid personnel gave me fluids and I recovered just fine.

I am so glad you are ok and for Josh & Taylor coming to the rescue. My mom(who was in a wheelchair)& I ended up at Celebration Hospital after a bus accident at WDW. We had no car so we had to find a ride back to the resort. The best part no restaurants were open so we got 2 Reuben sandwiches and a pot of coffee for $75.00. The accident was the Disney's bus driver's fault and we had to pay the $75.00, no reimbursement. Her wheelchair was damaged no reimbursement for that either.

Such a scary situation, and so glad you are okay. I have had dehydration issues (due to a medical condition) in the past that have sent me to the ER, so we ALWAYS take the individual gatorade zero and propel packets to add to our bottled water while at the parks. Makes a huge difference!

The funniest thing, I grew up in Iowa. Ghastly heat and humidity. Fled to San Francisco.... Still humid but a cool fog. Went to Scottsdale for a 4 day conference in August. Most all the lunches, seminars were outside. People were fainting like nobody's business! It was shambolic as all get out. I thought, well I'm used to Iowa heat, 13 years after leaving. As I redhead, I should have known better. Was almost hospitalized!

Mid-afternoon breaks at the hotel are a must for. me after suffering from heat stroke. I do not like to spend time in the room, and rather be at the pool, but it is imperative for me in the afternoon to go inside to escape the sun for some air-conditioning. I usually return to the hotel and take a shower and rest, or go to an inside table service restaurant for a relaxing lunch. In the summer, I head to the parks in the evening and usually they are open later hours, but I rather be healthy and miss a few rides than ill. Glad you are feeling better and had support in Florida.

Gosh, sounds so scary! Glad it all worked out and thanks for sharing your story. Being from Arizona, you are prepared for heat strokes. In humidity, it reacts differently than in the dry heat. In humidity, you do not feel thirsty so it sneaks up on you faster. I am glad you had people there to help you. Next time definitely go to first aid because Disney is prepared for heat stroke. I am so glad you are well. And yes, your body will be more susceptible to it later. The good new is that you know what to look for. Make sure you drink twice as much water as you think you need.

Definitely buy some electrolyte powder to take with you. They sell em in sticks that just go right into a water bottle (I use the brand Ultima, and it's worked really well for me -- gatoraid isn't as good as it used to be and so full of sugar). I learned the hydration lesson the hard way in Hollywood Studios. Everything you were talking about was the same thing I went thru. The irrational irritability (which is when my husband knew SOMETHING was really wrong with me and he got me to the baby care center/first aid area). I also learned to keep a salty snack in my bag at all times - like a bag of disney potato chips was almost life-saving because I needed that salt in addition to the water! Glad you're ok, Mike! And Good on Josh and Taylor for being right there for ya!

Glad you’re feeling better! To be honest, I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks. Everything you went though is basically my daily experience. I'm really glad you're OK! If you've never tried Gatorade Zero Sugar, it's really good. Gives you all the good electrolytes, but without all the sugar. Frozen bananas and oranges are good snacks for your park bags, too, for the potassium. Southeastern US humidity is no joke. (I live in North Alabama.) I've had heat exhaustion, which is the milder form, and it's no fun, either, but heat stroke is a whole different animal. Don't fool with that humidity, and get in the shade as often as possible
