In my work experience, in cases like this, we suspended the employee pending investigation. That gave us the time to look into it fully instead of making a snap decision. Gun to the head + Domestic violence = very serious allegations.

The Team can always suspend him at anytime and montor him while he goes through a rehabilitation program, because the courts may require it as part of a plea bargain.
