This is a song totally inspired by our time in quarantine during the beginning of the pandemic. I imagine that like most people, I was struggling with the myriad emotions of being isolated from the outside world, dealing with fear, uncertainty and the unsettling sense of global panic. I wrote a lot of music during that time, if for nothing else than to try and make something positive happen in my own life whilst it felt that the rest of the world was in chaos. Images of empty streets in cities like Los Angeles, New York and Paris were particularly influential on the vibe and lyrics of be here now. I have walked those streets in my travels, and to see them devoid of life made me feel a tremendous sense of loss for all humanity, but also hope that one day soon we would all be able to come back together and fill those streets with life, love and laughter.
