Hey Mike, Love your passion for Kayak fishing as I agree, it is addicting as I just started Kayak fishing last July and can't wait to get back on the water! I just bought another kayak this weekend and can't wait to get on the water in another month or so. Waiting for the ice to clear here in New York.

Many of the waterways I've fished in the Big Sky, for many species of trout, have screamed aloud the use of a kayak to fish the water with. I only regret age limiting my use of one to access ALL the water of a creek or river legally.
@TheWVgoodguy226 жыл бұрын
Grats on the trophy bull red fish, definitely put up one heck of a fight. The poor thing is going to be deaf the rest of its life in his right ear canal though. I would be pumped too for sure, especially since I have never caught one and would love to go fishing for them especially out of a kayak it is just much more intimate.
@mikeiaconellifishing6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching Forrest! Any fight with a fish is an adrenaline rush. I highly recommend giving kayak fishing a try!
@TheWVgoodguy226 жыл бұрын
You are welcome Mike Ike, I have been watching your shows since The Fishing City Limits challenge TV show, I really enjoyed that, your Bass U podcast, this channel etc... I can appreciate your passion for the sport that has giving you so much (which you have earned as well) and for sharing that passion and knowledge with generations young and old. I enjoy fishing from a kayak, I have a $500 Emotion Stealth Angler 11 kayak, rigged up with a couple rod holders, tackle crate, anchor trolley, etc.. and have caught couple LMBs, White Bass, and panfish from it so far, looking for my next trip possibly to chase muskies and smallies on a lake or creek. Hopefully within a year or two I will have a truck and a better kayak so that I can stand and flip, etc...

Son of a fisherman a lot of good videos. Find a dealer local and try them out/or a local club and see if you can check theirs out. But, don't go cheap... personally recommend +$700-$1000
@sonofafisherman7436 жыл бұрын
Zac S. thanks for advice
@mikeiaconellifishing6 жыл бұрын
Gotta agree with what Zac said. You get what you pay for with a kayak. Number one thing you need to remember is to pick a kayak that you are comfortable in. Then the next decisions come into factor, How much money can you spend? Do you want a paddle or a pedal drive kayak? And so on.

I've been kayak fishing since 2012 and hate what it had turned into. Used to be simple. Now they are making kayaks more expensive and heavier feels like they are trying to lure in bass boat guys to make $$. Kayaks are now too expensive and it's losing it's simplicity. Now everyone thinks you got to have pedals or motors on a kayak and expensive fish finders and other gear. That's what the sport of kayak fishing was intended to be
@850are26 жыл бұрын
Wesley Hackney amen to that. Ive ben in kayak for years. No electronics just paddles and homemade rod holders. 9ft small boat. I go anywhere for free!
@Weeble_Warbles5 жыл бұрын
It is getting insane. They truly are like mini bass boats. Look at this new Dorado. kzbin.info/www/bejne/haq7ZGOFo92mpc0 That Dorado is over the top ridiculous. I do have to say, I love pedals, though. You don't need them, but man you can do a whole lot more fishing when a paddle isn't in your hand.
@richykid96315 жыл бұрын
This is true, I have a small bass boat, but frankly taking the kayak is easier. I bought a fish finder for it, then I’m looking at all kinds of storage options, only to catch myself, and say, keep it simple, I have a boat if I wanna fill it with crap. Seen one guy in his yak, with every gizmo on the market, looked like a cruise ship lol
