I'm very happy with mine. i only have a single 2m repeater in my area with two linked 70cm repeaters, so coverage of the area is pretty good, but I rarely change the channel.....there is NO simplex usage at all around my area mostly, on either band. Maybe a brief chat once or twice a month is all I hear, so mine's on the same channel all the time. Power output on mine is around 18-23w depending on where in the band I am. Up in the FM section of 2m, I get around 18w on HIGH, but down in the SSB portion I get around 22-23w output. MORE than ample for my needs and my area. GREAT little rig for a great price. WELL DONE RETEVIS !

@@garyiow8482 I use a laptop cooling tray with fans when I'm at home keeps it nice and cool. There's an option to flip the screen so the speaker is on top and the heat sink has air blowing over it. I do the same when running the g90 at home as it gets warm too

Only issue is there is no way to display name and frequency at same time. Or even select/toggle name, frequency display directly on radio. You need to choose one or the other.

I’d like to resemble the majority of comments here. Mine arrived today (a late November’24 birthday pressie to myself) but very quickly realised my power supply units were unsuitable for it. My Google fu has solved the issue, but alas I must wait for the postal service to work their black magic buggery. Shame but… I am a total noob. I very much look forward to playing with it though.

Nice review Mike. Can you tell me if it has true dual receive or is it a shared switching receiver? Also will it crossband?

It will monitor both bands and will receive a signal on both but will prioritise the main band when receiving 2 signals at the same time.. no cross band repeat. V/U U/U V/V ...

Looks exactly like a QYT-7900. I hope they last longer. Mine had a habit of losing it's programing and going insane and unusable. I tried re-uploading the data and it would go insane again after a few days.
