I have not heard this video until today and I agree, it is playing at the top of his game. I have seen other live clips of this group line-up playing and it certainly seems that they gelled well together and the music just flows.

Indeed. I've been watching this at half speed for about three days trying to work out what he's doing. Maintaining alternate picking at that speed for so long without one single mistake is awe inspiring. Then of course there's the great final solo...

@@kvothe6627 Flattered that you ask. :-) I'm pretty useless at tabbing. What I can say is that it's probably easier to learn this one just by watching and listening. Mostly arpeggios over three chords with just a few ornaments and trills thrown in. The only really hard thing is cross picking at that speed! :-D

Mike is a genius! The first CD I bought when I was a child was "Crises" (1983) in 1990...I love every album, every song he wrote! But Mike isn't on a "Best guitarists" list??!!! That's a crime!

@@paulmarty6163 I'm having a go at it. The notes themselves seem fairly simple - starts with Eb major... the bastard thing is the speed of the alternate picking and the little ornaments between the arpeggios. Otherwise it's just doing the manic Oldfield style over 3 or 4 chords :-)

This man is the most under appreciated British Artist of the last 50 years....He even did the Olympic Opening Ceremony playing a "Latin Christmas Carol" in July!!!!! He will never be truly appreciated by the wider public until he is gone, lucky we know better and can appreciate him while he is still with us.

(The 201 is the standard class version without flaps for high speed cross country flight). 40:1 glide ratiio in the modified H-301.
