He was very good looking, but the love of my life was Chris Curtis. I lived and died for him daily. Lol.

I was born In '61 and loved these sounds and I still do. Sugar and Spice was one of my all time favourites; but the b side I Pretend I'm With You takes the pick.

I saw The Searches at Skegy ten years ago and while signing autographs John McNulty sang a verse I Pretend' to me. For a man of 70tee he captured the sweet sound of the sixties. Thank you John.

You were young getting into their music, I was 17 in 1963 when I first heard Needles and pinsaaaa!😄👌😎

I pretend I’m with you was the B side of Dont Throw Your Love Away.

Yes, I know; I was referring to I Pretend I'm With You as just a 'b' side. 'B' sides weren't all that good; they were just fillers.. Mac sung it to me while signing autographs. He was around 70 years of age, at Skegy, and his voice was so wonderful.

Great Band one of the best. Tony Jackson departure was the start of the downward trend it really screwed the band because it came from bitterness

Mike thinks he "wasn't too bad" a singer? In my book he's one damned good singer! But the group lost something when they lost Tony Jackson, which, from what I've read, was mainly due to some underhanded machinations of Chris (Crummy) Curtis.

It was yes , bit of tussle between them

Indeed, Chris Crummy was the reason Tony left the Searchers. Everyone hates seeing their favourite band shed its members

Unfortunately Mike Pender placed money before friends and so the disagreement between him and John still rumbles on life is too short

I have been unable to find out what exactly happened. It was much better when they were all together

Pity he split from the main band, they have done much better than Mike
