I have always taken my hat off to you bud, a great rider, and its brilliant that you take time out to answer peoples comments. I simply love 2 strokes, nothing better. I have a few in my collection that ive built up over the years, nothing comes close in my opinion. If you ever fancy riding a mint avgas only 2000 RS250 NX5 at any events, let me know, the bike is yours to use. Mike shows us masterclass! On a stroker from the ' highside era" he seems to keep way clear of that danger with cornerspeed of a God, smoothness and confidence,also so much experience he sees and thinks YES and it happens.

wicked video mike, I love the tzr,s I have 2 of them myself, a 87 red n white retro race block colour and an 86 250 same colour, both mint, tzrs are as good or better as todays modern bikes I think, great power and handling, id look forward to seeing your next video. good luck mike

Was watching a few old TT videos last night and then old 2 strokes went well round that long twisty TT circuit aswel as on these short tight twisty old British circuits Well done to ya man massive respect to you all !!! I have just recently found your videos suggested to me. Great fun to watch your races from the other side of the pond. It's been over I decade since I was lapping in anger and your work brings it all back to me...thank you for that. Bravo on your corner entry speed and consistent use of the margins, particularly while turning in. And well done on your tuning...have yet to come across any video sporting a marginal motor. Lastly, your camera placement (so sick of helmet cam videos) is exactly where I find it most pleasing.

just a tune to the top end (barrels and head). The crank, crankcase, rotor, ignition, carbs and airbox are standard TZR

Great ride ,as ciose as you get without putting your own butt on the line. did a couple of years in the states (77 -79 ish) ridding a 125 twin yamaha,riding against philippe de lepinay ,he had a 125 morbedille (sorry bout the spelling) putting out 45 h.p. ,needless to say I have a truckload of second place trophies

Joe, there's nothing wrong with 2nd place, it means you did taste 'the win' - I should know, I've also got a truckload of 'first loser' trophies. You've got to be out there doing it as well you know, to even be in with a chance - and that's a lot better than talking about it...

Not GoPro - we use Contour - you can search for them online, just simply type in Contour cameras. The no.1 benefit I find with them is that you can rotate the lens which is attached to the recording chip - so it makes the mounting of the cameras very flexible. Especially as I don't own a race bike, just ride other peoples - I need to be able to mount them temporarily.

Thanks for taking the time to comment Joe, to be honest, I very rarely use the back brake on track, it really is just a 'get out of jail' thing when stuff is starting to go wrong. For more recent videos I've added an aux brake light to my coaching bike, so that people can see when I'm on and off the brakes, you might find that interesting to watch: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y4GspYilrdiDr7M

You're right Swaggerlot, Dean is a good young rider, and hard to beat on a fast bike - but sometimes, age and experience does win out.
