Context is always going to be controversial. People don’t want the truth because they don’t want to be held accountable. You don’t start conversations in the middle of sentence and understand what is being said. You can’t pick up a book read page 10 and know what the book is about. You don’t start a movie in the middle and understand what the movie is about. Take this comment for example, you can’t read two sentences and know what I’m talking about let alone do a teaching on it. We have to stop trying to make stuff fit and ACTUALLY read what the Bible says in context. Brilliant teaching on the fundamentals of context.

The bible calls the reason "itching ears" ( 2 Timothy 4:3 ). Essentially, false teachers are so popular within the Church because they tell us exactly what we want to hear when we are not submitted to the Holy Scriptures and Holy Spirit. The truth is that God wants His children to mature to be holy as He is holy. That's actually His primary goal after gifting us salvation. But revealing that sound truth isn't what our flesh wants to hear. It doesn't bring in crowds by making the biblically illiterate false teacher seem more innovative and inspiring in his preaching. To the carnally minded, biblical truth is boring; doesn't make us shout; doesn't feed our ego, and it may even challenge or convict us in some area. Our fallen flesh simply wants us to perform the ritual of going to church to appease God rather than to worship Him and learn how to live for Him. Following a biblically unqualified pastor or teacher who is merely a naturally charismatic (not spiritually gifted) motivational speaker who rarely (if ever) rightly handles scripture in context and who always has a "new revelation" allows worship of our desires while pretending to worship God. That's the issue in a nutshell. We can flock to the false teacher to receive a regular fix of spiritual dopamine after hearing myths like "God's priority is for us to operate in the overflow." Meanwhile, when listening to the true Holy Spirit using biblical context and with a heart to genuinely know and do God's will, we learn that Jesus found no fault with the Church of Smyrna despite its great poverty and persecution but gave His greatest rebuke to the Church of Laodicea which boasted that it was "living in the overflow" in all areas and thus had need of nothing. That's not a crowd pleaser revelation, but faithful pastors and teachers are called to care more about being God pleasers.

His is not a teacher. Teaching requires rudimentary fundamentals gained over time and mentorship that is guided with correction. His approach appears to be heavily filled with fleshly aspirations. I pray for him, but humility is hard to receive at his level of attendance and appreciation.

I would agree but that’s not what’s going on here in my opinion. It’s not about him sounding or looking different. It’s about him teaching different doctrine. Everything else for me is not relevant. I want to be corrected when I miss something within the Word and I am tasked with correcting when someone else misses something in the Word. You are correct though. We are not enemies, unless you are teaching a false doctrine. Even still, the Bible says to love our enemies. So there should be no hate shown on this channel, but there will be a call for accountability amongst each other.

There is no way to pull “Overflow” from this text. AT ALL. What’s sad is that they have a preaching team. He doesn’t come up with these sermons alone. This means that there is a team of willful stupidity and ignorance. We know he sees the videos on him.
