Miles Wilkinson From what I can gather, Mike Westcott was first a history teacher at Northlea, then went into radio/voice overs but I have no idea how he wound up doing this. He’s living in Cape Town now, it seems he continued doing voice overs for advertisements but may have retired now.

@Марк Лепић Gomos are granite mountains that you get in the country. We call them Gomos or Kopje's. Cherry is slang for your chick (girlfriend). Have a dop means have a drink. China's is slang for friends. Graft means work. And tiger he is referring to shooting the cat. So parked or shot a tiger meaning he chandad (vomitted)

What is shumba? I've tried to look it up but can't find it anywhere. Was it a local drink or is just a reference to the name of the Salisbury suburb?
@rodsinclair25737 жыл бұрын
Shumba was a Matabele word for lion, and Lion Lager was a popular drink, it was certainly my favourite beer when I lived in Rhodesia.
@blaisebravo67976 жыл бұрын
Shumba is shona not ndebele. Isilwane is ndebele for lion. But yes it is a beer you get in southern Africa and it is called lion lager. It was very popular in Rhodesia and specifically with the RLI.
