The first time I heard the word "trap" and the way it's used in music was from Outkast on Spottieottiedopaliscious when Big Boi said "Didn't call you back because you had cloudy piss so now you back in the trap just that, trapped. Go on and marinate on that for a minute". Then T.I. with "Dope Boyz" and then naming his second album "Trap Musik". And that was at the time when Crunk Music was EVERYWHERE in the A and the South. And from there the term and the so called genre of trap took off. There's a documentary about the sound of music from Atlanta and T.I. being the forefather of the "trap music" sound. Jeezy and Gucci took it to a whole other level but there's no way anybody should be put in front of T.I when it comes to the sound / genre of Trap Music
