Pretty much all of 2019. Pre-pandemic. I worked right next to Stoner skatepark. I would hit it on my lunch break all the time. And York would be there, all the time. We just became what's up buddies. He'd always shake my hand or peace sign me. Say what's up. Dude had such good energy and was fun as fuck to watch dork around and actually kill it. He made it so I wasn't nervous skating in front of a professional I looked up to. I'd get props from him on tricks and be so fuckin stoked. Skated with him for like 6 months and then one day I brought the Hot Chocolate Tour video and asked him to sign it. Haha. He was pumped and happy to do it. Fuckin rad human. Miss those Stoner sessions! BIG LOVE NINE CLUB/ YORK!

I'm not sure if many of you remember this, but Gonz had a Nosepick 360 shove it sequence in a mid to late 80's Thrasher. That same month I bailed out of a nosepick and un wittingly stuck on the tail of that 360 out. The bail tought me I could do it and learned it right there on the spot. Eerily similar to Mike @18:23 learning that Frontside nose shove it over from a bail. Also: to be doing a trick the Gonz had just mind blowingly dropped gave me quite some pull in the neighborhood, those were good times...
