This is probably my favorite from this album as well. Also, the screaming/raspy parts are Grant Truesdell, one of their guitarists. Brittney's said that she wishes she could do screams, but she "sounds like a kitten" when she tries :D

This song is the climax battle of the story. The Matriarch and her 4 Soulbound sons vs. the Immortal and the Matriarch's grandson. It represents the battle, the victory, and the sadness of sacrifice to win the battle. Such an epic masterpiece 🤘

I've compared this song to the Matrix, where Neo is inside of Smith, and destroys him utterly, from the inside out.
@Z_TPI3 жыл бұрын
Edit: the Soulbound sons were defeated before the battle against the Matriarch. Though the lyrics don't outright say it, Brittney did say that in her track by track. Basically it happens off script in-between Soulbound and Faster Than Light..

“I love how big that sounds” Yup. This song has one of the most phenomenally well executed choruses I’ve ever heard. And then the rest of the song is spent building back up to a repeat of it. It just hits so incredibly hard and has one of the best melodies I’ve ever heard. This band is incredible.

IMMORTAL IS MORE THAN A NAME! THE WIND THAT SHAPES THE LAND Somehow I find myself Standing on the edge of something that I desperately need From this moment I will not be the same No more crying for the things I can't change Here I will put this tale to rest Finish what I started long ago And though it may not be the ending I wish Only victory can bring me home Come I won't wait for long I was never your slave for all eternity And now here we stand face to face Feel the ground Crashing all around Fight to fan the flame Ignite the battle rage Tear the sky Watch the boulders fly As the mountain scape Crumbles in her wake So, you've come to prove yourself Despite the lies you tell You know you won't prevail And I, most powerful of all Have come to see you fall You'll find no mercy here Search within, uncover the will to win Turn against the tide that washes o'er Find the strength to fall and rise again Open up the gates, unleash the force I am the wind that shapes the land Old as time and twice as strong Oceans arise at my command I alone can carry on To break her chains Forward I push on into the storm surrounding me I await her strike Could it be she's reached the pinnacle now? Silence as I stand within the eye In this hurricane of her design And watch as I drain the light from inside Now at last I see what must be done and so I fly Firm within my grasp I hold the spark and shatter it See her eyes go dark Could it be I've finally won the war now? I see the clouds are gone The storm that raged is quiet once again I feel the stars above Shining on the fragments that remain Search within, uncover the will to win Turn against the tide that washes o'er Find the strength to fall and rise again Open up the gates, unleash the force I am the wind that shapes the land Old as time and twice as strong Oceans arise at my command I alone can carry on No What is this I see? Broken before me Once again I pay the price I've nothing without sacrifice

Amazing Canadian group I only discovered since I started watching reaction channels otherwise would still be completely in the dark about so many amazing groups out there....... Nightwish, Epica, Ayreon, Delain, Beyond the Black, Within Temptation, Evanescence, just to mention a few. My musical listening has been expanded greatly and for the better. ❤️🤘🇦🇺

When they did the live streaming album release this was immediately my favorite song. It's such an epic climax to the story. Their song writing is impeccable.

It made me so happy to watch you react to this! TWTSTL is my favorite track off the Apex/Abyss saga. It does such a good job of combining aspects of the old prog rock I've loved for a long time with my more recent love of power metal.

I get full body goos bumps every time when she hits "Come, We won't wait for long...". I never picked up all those different influences "Boston..." until you mentioned them but you're right. My favorite song from the Apex-Abyss saga for all the reasons you said. Plus I think that ending is pure perfection.

YES!!!! my prayers were finally answered , that a channel would react to THE masterpiece by UTA, this song is unbelievable, there is so much happening in it & puts you in different moods! It doesn't look like it at the moment, but I really hope that I can see UTA together with STRIKER ( Canadians too / awesome as well!!!) here in Germany at the end of the year! stay heavy & healthy, all the best \m/

Outstanding choice... thank! Not many have reacted to this masterpiece. The story-telling through music is so amazing... let alone the lyrics. Please also react to "Carry the Flame". It is the next song on this epic album.

This song is out and far beyond my imagination. Unleash the Archers is in its peak form recently and this one, alongside the tittle track of their latest album are their greatest ever. This is a hymn, an epos comparable to the greatest Iron Maiden epic hymns from the 80-ties, sang by someone amongst my top 5 female singers in the world.
@magicmicah273 жыл бұрын
ginger looked like she was having an out of body experience and honestly thats what the song does. its so good, it makes me very sad how few reactions there are to it so im very happy you two listened! if i could make a request, id love if you could eventually listen to code of life off epica's latest album. no video, just cover art like with this song, but the music speaks for itself.

Okay, so this song is on Repeat every time I drive (that’s where I am comfortable practicing singing along, occasionally I even hit & sustain a really thin wobbly version of those “Now!” moments.) So I looked up more reactions today, found yours! You seem comfy with the growls (gonna look up your Jinjer reactions that I’m certain you’ve done in a sec here), and you said you like Epic story with lots of changes. So I want to suggest to you Be’lakor An Ember’s Arc official lyric video OR The Smoke of Many Fires official lyric video both from the album Vessels. Ember is the second song and Smoke is the finale. Ember is more cosmic and Smoke is more earthly. They made lyric videos for the whole album (“melodic death metal, btw, all growl-yet still beautiful imo). 💚. Ooh!!! Also Ayreon(Progressive Metal) ! Which I didn’t think to check your channel for yet, so -if u have not already- The day the World Breaks Down by Ayreon is great. There are MANY albums all set in the same sci-fi universe bringing in songbirds like Floor Jansen and her sister, and great musicians-honestly one ‘fantasy’ I have is him (Arjen Anthony Luccassen) getting The members of Jinjer and UTA to participate in Ayreon together. /sigh. A girl can dream.
