Classifying triangles with Pythagorean Theorem

Pythagorean Theorem is good for so much more than just finding the missing sides of right triangles. This video will show you how to use Pythagorean theorem to determine if a triangle is acute, right, or obtuse without knowing any of the angles.

Beginning of the video was a little useless. Chances are if your doing Pythagoras theorem then you know the difference between right, obtuse, and acute. Would be better if the vid just jumped straight to inputting variables into the formula and explaining how to solve it

I’m a little unsure about what you mean though- the beginning of the video wasn’t about what an acute or obtuse triangle is; rather it was laying the groundwork for when it is appropriate to think about Pythagorean theorem without knowing if you have a right triangle, and what it would mean if the theorem “fails” to work in one of the two possible ways…. I always try to discuss the conceptual underpinnings of the math before showing worked examples because I think it’s important to understand why the technique works, and not just how to do it.
