One of the best introductions ever to a song - and then it goes on and on. Wonderful. Jimmy is truly an amazing songwriter. A shame more people don't realise he wrote 'Ride On', 'Neidin' etc.

Jimmy is a genius, his music is timeless, best show I ever seen was Jimmy at Opera House Cork 1999, it was a standing ovation , was really incredible performance 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏

I heard this song for the first time this evening, on CKUA (public radio) in Alberta, Canada. I was struck by the haunting melody, and just had to look up the song online; a bit of research helped me understand the lyrics and meaning so much! Thank you very much for posting this video - this is the very definition of a beautiful song!

Beautifully written but like many other great songs I just prefer Christy singing it.

My favourite is Mary Black's most recent version (she did a compilation of all her Jimmy MacCarthy songs, then added a few new ones including this one). Christy's is a bit too over-produced for my liking.
