The part after that was misquoted clarified that they aren’t just “protesters” they are basically protesters in the act of committing arson. You aren’t a protester anymore if you are literally setting fire to buildings. He never claimed they should hunt down people who have committed arson either, just as a preventative measure if militias see a person setting fire to a building then fuck them. It was also nested in the context that the rioters and arsonists were so bad optically that it they are the ones actively fucking over the black community and left more broadly right before the general election. So a lot of nuance. The heinous part is leaving out the part that shows the victims in this hypothetical are arsonists and the militias are engaging in harm prevention rather than mob justice. It’s frames like destiny thinks there should be mob kangaroo courts with innocent black people lined up and slaughtered which is such a slanderous take I wouldn’t fault somebody for kicking your ass if they ever saw you in public after that. Which did happen, mike literally ran down the street before destiny noticed him.
