It doesn’t quite go into the sa level as detail as Lypur’s videos, but it gives you a great overview of the “basics” - so that you can start

Hello Mike sir . When you duplicate the side of the table and place them one over the other ,there will be issues with vertices overlapping right.? So if we merge the vertex weird normal issues are arriving. So please it would be great if you sort out this problem . Hope you'll reply sir. By the way, I love your tutorials and you are my modelling guru.😊 Thank you sir.

Im having a problem in the beggining. When I do an automatic projection, my UVs end up as 5 equally big squares, and when I try to move one of them (after selecting "Shell), the edges of the other UVs move as well and disort them (as if they were attatched). Any idea why this happens?

+Daly Zee UVing is like a textile cutting pattern where you are cutting and stitching to create "clothing " for an object. In this case wood. You cut where you want a seam and you stitch where you don't want one

Very nice tutorial. One question. Is it necessary to combine all the UV maps. Is it always acceptable to do UV's as you go
@MHTutorials3D8 жыл бұрын
+nhbb980 That depends on what you are going to use it for. In a game or animation setting I would combine the UV's, and bakes the textures
@4DModding8 жыл бұрын
+Mike Hermes How are they combined? Can individual UV's be combined after creation
@MHTutorials3D8 жыл бұрын
+nhbb980 If you have a model with 4 UV's and you bake all the textures into one file

Very nice Tut. Have you messed with displacement maps if so could i ask you something. When i have a displacement map on my wood then i change the setting from bump to tangent space normals then i render it out it looks like a bump map would you have any ideas how to fix??
@MHTutorials3D8 жыл бұрын
+Yixel You shouldn't apply a bump map as a tangent space normal as it is not a normal. So use it as a displacement or bump but not a normal

Would there be problems if I only use one poly cube for the table (not including the drawer) and just extrude them? and why do you need to add another 2 lights? :)
@MHTutorials3D8 жыл бұрын
+Miguel Tabut No, that's possible but UVing will be more work
@mirioph8 жыл бұрын
+Mike Hermes how about the lights? why did you add another light at the back?
@MHTutorials3D8 жыл бұрын
+Miguel Tabut I loosely followed a studio light setup where you would have one key light, one (or more ) filler lights and a backlight. It softens the shadows and allows you to turn down the intensity of the others

+Daly Zee UV's are like patterns cut in fabric ( textile ) You cut a pattern and then wrap it on or around an object. If you want a clean cut between two face cut the UV edge.
