I am reading Ms. Streisand’s new autobiography, “My Name Is Barbra”. It is so wonderful to be able to go back and watch the performances she talks about in the book. This, which I am sure I saw on TV when I was 15, is an absolutely awesome performance.

A reminder of why she's so revered, an extraordinary talent at just 23 years old in this performance. What a young Diva, just magic.

Actually she was 22 when the show taped! It was first shown on April 28, 1965, and Barbra's 23rd birthday was April 24. What a marvel she is! :)

The first time my mom, who was born in 1916, heard this, she started to silently weep. She had a rough time during the Depression and adored FDR.

Thank you to Streisand for all the years of beautiful music. We baby boomers were so very lucky to witness this phenomenon.

Born 1963 here-a baby boomer who saw the film Funny Girl at age 5 and obsessed with her ever since. I loved her “My Name is Barbra” memoir. I’ve read it and have listened to all 48 hours -Twice- I’m an even bigger fan now . I just finished a biography's on her that revealed 1963 was named “The Year of Barbra Streisand “-in NYC entertainment circles. How fitting for my birth year.

Same when she sang it in the album when she hits the note it sort of fell flat one thing about Barbra is that she doesn’t like to repeat her renditions of a song

stroke of genius taking this 1929 happy-go-lucky Tin Pan Alley tune by Milton Ager and Jack Yellen associated with FDR's Democratic Conventions, slow it down, and hand it over to a sultry Streisand one of the greatest interpreters of lyrics in the Twentieth century. The song has never been the same since.

Any pinhead back then who complained about her nose and didn't get that she was a major show business game-changer, must have been deaf and blind.

Actually, Amy looks like BARBRA. Adele uses the cat eye make up too but Barbra did it first.
