That Steve Krugg book changed my whole view on design. That and "Are you designing or making pretty pictures" something like that.

A really helpful approach. The tips seem really simple and plain, but they do work when you use them as a set of rules. The results may not show up instantly, but in the long go it really helps.

Great video; this is GOLD. Everyone should listen and use these for success. People can also use these same bucket of skills in other parts of Software and Product Engineering.

Thanks Mike! I am kind of struggling within the team because of other UX designers arrogant nature, pushing the designs their own way.

Hey Mike I know how to design layout-wise, but when it comes to exporting my mockups it gets so blurry especially mockups with smaller text like an app. It's never pixel-perfect. I really need to get a job and I know recruiters are passing my portfolio by just on the photos that I have on them. How do you do yours? Which platform (photoshop, figma mockup etc) dimensions do you use when you're exporting your mockup?

do you have any tips on landing a job in these times. im almost finished with my portfolio and getting ready to start applying. im just scared that the current WFH measure is going to make this process very difficult. esp since in my area (bay area) it has been extended to 2021

Just approach it the same you would "pre-coronovirus" but just expect to work from home initially. Working from home via Zoom calls, Google hangouts or any other video conferencing tool is almost mandatory these days. As long as you understand that, just approach applying and communicating with recruiters as usual.

I think your online portfolio is much more important now than ever before. I would say critical because decision-makers are now going to have to rely on such tools and assets to make decisions. This includes, not only the hiring manager, but also the team-members (devs, etc.), the recruiter, and the account manager. WFH means everything online.
