Cycling from Great Baddow to Broomfield via the 'Bunnywalks' - Chelmsford, Essex

I used to do this journey on a bike, except I'd start by the Vineyards and I'd carry on up Broomfield Road, all the way to Little Waltham. Only differences were I'd keep left through the Tesco Car Park and not go over the bridge. I'd go past Odeon to the High Street and go up it all the way to the Police Station. I'd then go through the University to the Bunnywalks and cycle up 5th Avenue.

Wow you are keeping us entertained the last couple of days. I was about to congratulate you on getting your bicycle out again and then I saw the date. Amazing how overgrown the bunnywalk is now compared to your video. Look at all the views this one has had!

My folks lived in Chelmsford 1982-2009 and I grew up there, leaving in 1996. We lived just off the Bunny Walk and I used to cycle along that route to visit my friend who lived in the avenues. Good times. I really miss them.

Started halfway down Meadgate Avenue, heading towards the junction with Baddow Road. :)

Thanks. The off-road path network has somewhat expanded since I left Chelmsford in 1971. I'd much rather cycle those paths, than the roads. I had a girlfriend who lived up Springfield way, so the Bunnywalks are quite famliar to me. Takes me back......

Due to heavy traffic Chelmsford is no cycling heaven.....but probably better than most British cities due to its cycleways and level topography.

Know bunny walks very well played there when I was a kid I come from Springfield so I know it well just off arbour lane use to run across rail lines when they were steam to get to orchards those were the days

Obviously it depends where you start and end, but this journey from meadgate avenue to the northern part of Broomfield (near kings arms) was 4 miles on the bike via the bunnywalks.
