Lovely playing and sound. Almost makes me want to play more acoustic... almost :) Thank you for sharing. Vitamin D supplements and St John's Wort (Hypericum) tablets benefit my mood during the winter... if you've not tried, worth a go :)

With all this Depressionism about and the way your arpeggios resonate ,I'm curious as to whether you have any views on Russian seven string - A.K.A. semistrunka ? Do you think it might fit with what you do ?
@MikhailMedvedev7 жыл бұрын
sevenstring guitars these days correspond more to alternative music with heavy low riffs)))) but you got it, some of my Depressionism tracks definitely were influenced by Russian musical culture... as far as it concerns "semistrunka" people here would think of Russian Romance music first - all those sad and emotional melodies with a skillful guitar playing... It's a strange thing, but I dislike this music - Russian Romance. On the other hand I do appreciate it's cultural value and impact in Russian culture. Could semistrunka and Russian Romance be considered as Depressionism culture? Well I think in many ways yes. They belong to the time of Decadence and sit very close with Depressionism in a cultural row

I personaly would like to have one of those multy-neck acoustic guitars like Michael Hedges had or one from Pat Metheny)

I'm fascinated by what you have written ; the only Russian guitarists I know are sevenstring players,so I've only heard their perspective.Not all of them look backwards(although most of them do)new music is being written and it sounds fresh to my ears.Because of the extra string it becomes so much more than just 'open G'-in fact so many of the strongest keys are minor , and there are a lot of them.I see it more as another 'standard tuning'-it's probably as versatile,unless you like playing in 'A'. Yes, I am a westerner whose head has been turned-but I like what you do just as much.

thanks for the links (youtube blocked them, so I just have noticed that) - yes, I want a multineck guitar)... alternate tunings are very attractive to experiment indeed though I personaly come to alternative tunings from the other side (most of the time while composing and recording music for movies) - if something that I want to play and record is difficult I try to make is simplier and more convinient by changing a tuning

Pat Metheny says hello :) One quite night...
@MikhailMedvedev7 жыл бұрын
well... he is a Great Master and his playing acoustic guitar was very influential... but my favourite is "A Map of the World" - it was some kind of magic to discover this album years ago

After many many years of deep music research I could tell that Pat Metheny is the best musician ever born and he could be an alien too :) His playing, compositions, emotion...totally outstanding. Btw love your songs and way you play!
