Tracks sap a lot of power, giving you less at the ground, and John Deere lie about power. Take 100 off the Deere claim/sticker and you will be closer to the truth :D

I have to say that tractor handled the big hill quite nicely. Love the case tractors. A case 715 quad would eat that hill up. But the tires still did pretty well. Nice.

Mike, If you are doing the inside of your field first then your headlands, why don't you use headland control in the Gen5 display. You mentioned in an earlier video you started using true boundaries this year, if that is the case, you can create a headland on the display and use headland control to turn off the seeder with section control a specific distance away from the exterior boundary. If its laid out the same as a 4640, you create the headland in the fields option, then enable headland control in the section control menu option. I did this last year and it worked great. Something changed this year and it was shutting off and turning on to early, so I just make a slightly smaller headland in the display (110' instead of 120') and that fixed it.

Good point. But as far as I understand it he doesnt run the section control over the G5plus display. He has the Topcon display which runs the cart and the section contol. He could probably trow that out and replace it with an extended monitor on which he could run the cart and use the JD section control Like you explained. However I guess he is so used to running the Topcon or has another thought trough reason for why he won't switch it out.

Can you work around the headland auto-shutoff/guidance issue by making a fake property line where the headland starts? Treat the headland as a separate parcel of land in the mapping program. If the headland is getting packed during seeding just don't plow it until after seeding the main field; Although I can see this may not be practical if the plow needs to be moved 30 miles just to do the headland but thats a bit of business math and I don't know neerly enough details of that specific operation to do the actual calculation.

Mike I have to ask when your seeding why you turn around so hard and why you wouldn’t skip a row for a couple of runs and then fill in the skipped rows as you go along. Less stress on the gear. That’s what we do here in Australia anyway. Just curious as to why you do turn the way you do. Cheers and love the videos

Would it make sense to have smaller equipment for some of those bad spots instead of tearing up the bigger and probably more expensive to repair equipment. My dad drove a semi for 51 years once he went across a scale and the officer wanted to give him a ticket for being 300 pounds over so my dad went in and got the guy and took him out to the truck and showed him the extra tools he carried and said now do you want me seating a long the road and waiting for someone to come and make repairs or I can do it and be out of the way he didn’t get the ticket ✌🏻👍🇺🇸
