Mikes Balsa USA 1/4 scale Sopwith Pup

On February 9, 1916, Herbert Smith's small 80 hp single seat "Fighting Scout" passed its acceptance tests and was cleared for production by the Sopwith Aviation Co. LTD.
The Sopwith Pup saw combat on every major front of World War I and performed almost every duty asked of a combat aircraft. Along with the Pup's combat success, it was also a pioneering aircraft of Naval shipboard aviation.

RFC Pilots called it the "Pup" because they said the Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter had pupped. Lovely model

Thank, Mike. I was thinking that with a G-62 this would fly like an F16! I have the same kit and got an RCGF 30cc twin gas engine, which actually weighs less than your G-26, 923g v. 933. I'm hoping I get the same "easy" to fly experience as you. Nice job! Did you need to add any nose weight? jv

Actually these aircraft back in the day took off and landed into wind only and the "aerodromes" were just grass fields. No crosswind landings on asphalt runways like this one.

easiest plane to fly???? your loops were extremely sloppy and the landing sucked. i dont think it was you. it looked like the plane wasnt capable of doing any acrobatics and looked awkward and front heavy on the landings. i wanted to buy one but if you cant fly it; i dont think i can either.
